Got to share this although it is not necesssarily consistent with the artisan reviews here. When replenishing a couple go to bulks at a local B & M I picked up a basket pipe simply labeled Czech on the stem. I liked the shape and rustication and figured that for $15 bucks I had nothing to loose. I wanted to dedicate a briar to aros. this little pipe has become a favorite after a month of almost daily smoking. It is light, good looking, and is a great smoker. I have since noticed that another B & M I frequent has the same pipes. Somebody must have had a bunch of these to move. A good deal on a good inexpensive pipe! If anybody knows anything about these I would like to know. The shops had nothing to say about them but 'Try it. Glad you like it.'

Got 2 myself, a mini and full size. Got them at a local bookstore that sells pipes and pipe tobacco. They also have Peterson's Stawell"s Etc. but yea could never find anything about the pipes. I use them as aro pipes, they have done well in that roll for 15 bucks.

Hey, those might be the same Czechs I've been buying, although not for $15. Good deal. Mine have no defects of any kind and smoke great. I've seen some real junk for three times that price, even a wall full of pipes at one shop that all whistled!

I couldn't find Whistling Pipes... but
second guy standing from the right is Whistling Elk, a feller named Pipe is sitting next to him.
