Nording Pipes

I've had my eyes on a couple of Nordings on ebay. I just love their rugged style. Is there anything I should be aware of before laying out 60-80 bucks on ebay? I have to be honest though, I'm looking less for high-end pipes and more just for good smokers.

The Great Danes were always good for me. I have various numbered pipes up to #19. I don't have the elusive #20 (yet).

I've never owned or smoked one myself but I believe the general consensus is they are good smokers. Aesthetically I'm not too much of a fan but anything that smokes well is good in my book! One of my local B&M's stocks them more than any other pies he carries, he loves them, especially the naked briar ones. Overall I think it'd be hard to go wrong with one of the big names in pipe making, as long as you enjoy it nothing else matters. maybe someone else will have a bit more insight than I do though.

I have a 14 and a 16. The 14 is one of my best smokers. I am still breaking in the 16 but so far so good.

Nording's grading and styles can be kind of confusing, as they have changed numerous times over the years, but it seems like a pretty solid brand. My favorite is an acorn shaped freehand I found on EBAY for $50.00.

I have 2 Nording Freehands and I love them both! I know you can do better than 60-80 though. Just keep watching! But even if you pay that much it would be worth it.

Thanks for all the feedback. I'm going to keep my eyes out and keep trolling ebay. As it is I'm looking at getting another hand made pipe and that'll set me back a little. This pipe thing is a frikking addiction. LOL
