Not pipe related directly per se, it is meant to be a cigar humidor, but it looked nice and for $25 at a local yard sale I figured I could always remove the brass plates and display some of my pipes in it.

We'll, it's a great piece and now it can house all (some) of those beautiful pipes you own, you lucky dog!

Ya know Banjo, everytime you post a photo my keyboard gets wet from all the drooling you cause me to do. First it is all those fine pipes of yours. Then this bargin hunters dream you found. You would think would be enough visual stimulation for these eyes of mine. But nope you have to top it all with a photo of a heavenly spot to puff and fish. :lol!:

Another stellar find there Banjo! Glad to see you posting so much again.

Well that's the York River, a tidal salt water river, on the banks of which none other than Mark Twain puffed away as he penned Huckleberry Finn whilst on vacation in our small New England town of York, ME. The pond is called Barrell Mill Pond named for the man who owned the ice house and farmed the ice from the pond during winter time. There is good striper fly fishing here. It's what I see every day from my house and back yard.

Well the brass plates came off w/o even a fight, there was glue residue on the door and three slide outs, giving serious consideration of cleaning the glue residue on the back of the plates, shining them up and replacing them with the engraved face glued to where they originally were.

Yould have something of your own ingraved on them before regluing them on it. Most throphy shops also do ingraving work.
