Umm It's my understanding that textbooks are included in the scholarships??? If not, its still better than 5-6-7-8-9--10,000 etc per semester for tuition.

$10k per semester? What, are you sending her to a public in-state college? Cheapskate. ;)

Some scholarships include money for books, others don't. I make a real effort to keep the text costs under $100 per course, but many single text books cost $300+. Still, as you say, better than the whole bill!

Fantastic news for your family! Congrats to your daughter!!

Where do you think she is going?

She has a crapload of places she's looked..

Centre
Eastern Kentucky
Union
Cumberland
UK
UL
and some 'artsy college in NYC' (one that offered a fullride)

That doesn't narrow it down... they're all artsy. Even the Orthodox Jewish one with a separate girls and boys campus is artsy.

In any case, congrats, man!

Mark yes UL/UK/Union is about 10k per. Cumberland is a bit cheaper. Centre is way more than that.

We've always known she would get some various grants because of her mother and my employment, Some of the activities she's been involved in, etc.
We even suspected she might get a scholarship, we just figured it'd be partial.

Blew my min when full scholarship offers started rolling in.

Congrats pops!

Free money is free money!

She has a ton of good choices here... I say C. A. T. S. CATS CATS CATS! Close enough to home where you can pop in, but far enough where she can't do laundry EVERY weekend.

Congrats, now you can afford to get her a cool vehicle to drive. Something with flair, something that says who she is, where she's from and where she's going in life,,,,
