I had to share this one as it's done by one of our own and it's something that REALLY resonates with me. There are perhaps four pipe shapes that I just love...a slightly bent Prince, a heavy Bulldog/Rhodesian, a slightly long Dublin...and...an OomPaul of moderate size.

The thing about an OomPaul is that it provides a LONG smoke, and its shape is meant to allow the hanging of the little furnace so it produces as little fatigue as possible. This one has the most perfect 'hang' I've ever experienced, tribute to the care and expertise of the maker...ta harris, who made this one, as a sitter, at my request. I mean, given the function of an OomPaul, I think it really needs to be a sitter.

It has what I would call a Chestnut stain that's one of my favorite colors.

OH! And the grain is pleasing as well, to say the least.

All in all I couldn't be more pleased. The design (his interpretation of an OomPaul with just a little direction from me) is spot on and the workmanship is really second to no one, anywhere, at any level.

Bore: 7/8"
Depth: 1 3/4"
Height: 3 1/2"
Length: 4 1/2"
Band: Sterling
Stem: Ebonite

Stunning pipe - congratulations!

Totally and utterly flawless. Super grain.

I hope you get plenty of great long smokes out of this one brother.

I like that pipe a lot, and I generally don't like oom-pauls. Perhaps I should re-think. The collaboration seems to have worked. Congratulations on a fine acquisition.

I couldn't agree with you more concerning the comfort of smoking that shape, especially when driving or working it doesn't get in the way.
Very nice grain on that beauty. Nice commission.

So nice. I'm a big fan of Todd's work and this is no exception. You're a lucky guy, BH - this is your second (or more?) of his pipes, no?

...come to think of it the bulldog he did for me a few months ago might need a friend soon.

your right that color is great really brings out the grains,,,, nice pipe!

Thanks, BH.

Looking at that beauty made me realize I want a gorgeous OomPaul, too.

Brother ta harris, I tip my cap to you.

Good heavens above, that is one stunning pipe, Oom Pauls usually make me shudder with repulsion, they always look clunky and damn ugly to me, but this one looks the business, a fine job indeed, I hope it serves you well for many years to come.

THAT is one STUNNING pipe !! I don't have an Oom Paul but sure would not mind THAT one :p :p

I love a full bent pipe and yours is a beauty. Its got class that most setters dont have.
