I'm considering a couple of Joh's pipes for about $80. What do you think of them as quality smokers?

I have a Johs bent brandy with a hexagonal shank--one of the first batch Smokingpipes offered when Mogen went solo. It's actually presently loaned out to a buddy who was starting out with the pipe. Nice solid smoker for the price, comparable to Stans around the same pricepoint. My only gripe was it turned my hand red (sweating off stain) the first few times I smoked it.
