Pete Samhain Bat Bait

I was using a Pete Samhain straight apple out on the deck last evening, late. You know, the one with the witch on her broomstick and HALLOWEEN stamped on the silver band? I was trying out some Semois. Well, I swear to God, a bat flew by me about a foot away and then cartwheeled and landed down on the hose reel thing close by...dangled for about 30 seconds and then took off...right by me again. Man, those things fly quiet if they're not chirping! It was like it came out of nowhere! Anyway the Halloween Witch pipe in combo with the bat thing scared the bejeezus outta me, so I changed to a tallish naked Dublin with a fairly straight narrowish bore, made by a brother here. Smoke seemed a little sweeter, not so harsh. No bats. Nice!

Hopefully when my nuts drop back down my voice will go back to normal.
