Peterson pipes with wood inlay around the logo?

Is anyone familiar with circular wood inlays around the Peterson logo on their stems? I recently came across a couple of them, and I haven't seen anything like it before. The bottom two pipes in the center:

I have had several of those over the years. If I recall the ones that I bought were made in the 1980's. they are called "Briar Circle" stems.
I don't know if any other info had been done on those particular stems, but they don't show up very often.
