So these Dracula pipes from Peterson...

OK, yes, so they're super cheesy (an uncharitable lady friend I was showing them too accused them of looking like "pipes from Hot Topic"), but I don't care--I love'em, and have a nostalgic spot for old Stoker's famous villain. My question is if anybody has any idea when they'll be released--I've poked around online and have heard rumors of August or September, but nothing solid, and wondered if the old hands on here knew if Peterson had a timetable they usually stuck to for launching new pipe series.

I think originally they were supposed to be for the hundreth anniversary of Bram Strokers death, but that was April if I remember right. Our brother across the pond checked with retailers there and found none in stores there yet. As far as a release date now I have not seen anything beyond speculation. I just dropped an email to Peterson (not the shop, one of their home office ladies) and will let you all know if she can enlighten us or if it will remain privvy information.

Thanks for the info, Kaiser, and many thanks for actually taking the time to email the company--that demonstrates a sensibleness that I envy! Can't wait to lay my mitts on one...

I'll take 2 of the 999's please! 8)
Ooooh, yes please--that may be my favorite shape of those they're offering. This will be my first Peterson purchase, and although my modest pipe collection are mostly bents, that Rhodesian may be too pretty to pass up. Of course, it'll like as not come down to what my local B&M gets in, as I doubt I'll have the impulse control if I actually spot one in the wild...

A 68 and 03 are definitely calling my name in the Dracula series.

They're all so nice--still kicking myself for missing out on a 68, I think, Peterson Samhain. Really lovely finish on that one that got away. With these I find myself really liking the matte finish for some reason, which I never would have expected if I'd been told about them, instead of seeing the pics.

For those of you with Peterson experience, obviously it's all relative, but have you found that any particular model performs best for you? Any to avoid? And are these filter systems? I know Peterson is famous for the special innards on some of them, but have never really gone down that rabbit hole...

Wait...are there going to be other shapes besides the three in the link?

I like Peterson pipes, but I'm an 80S/999 kind of guy. 8)

Yep Kyle, if you look above the picture of the three pipes on the link there is a list of the shapes for that series. I know it is hard to get past the pics but the words tell the whole story lol.

I have extremely bad vision and astigmatisms, and some sites I can't tell if there's just lines of color or text... I'll have to go back and check.

Available in selected shapes - X105, 221, 03, 999, 68 and 69 with fishtail mouthpiece only.

:lol!: No problem Kyle, always glad to help the elderly. Scouts honor...wait I wasn't a scout, crap. (I had to squint to see your response)

The line about "old age and treachery will overcome youth and skill..." comes to mind.

Aaaaaaand just noticed that in his original reply Kaiser misspelled Bram Stoker as "Bram Stroker." I'm at the point in my cups that this made me cough on my beer. Bram Stroker would be an awesome name for a goth porn stud.

    Embarassed or elated, I can't decide...

Out of curiousity I looked.....it's been done  More of a spin on the Dracula name but they did put the R into stroker too.

Ok, guys, that is funny. :p

Also, have to say, I do kind of like this series of pipes.

I'm ashamed of all of you.

And ashamed I missed that in the first place, and furthermore for laughing. Damn my eyes.
