I know this has often become a place for many of us to post about the various hardships and troubles we run into out "in the real world." I guess that today it's my turn to pop in and ask you all for your collective "good vibes."
My mother-in-law was rushed to the hospital Friday with intense abdominal pain. Three days later, we're staring at a diagnosis of ovarian cancer. No work yet as to how far it's spread (if at all...early bloodwork has given us some reason to hope that this may be well contained and treatable), but everyone's pretty well on edge.
Of the two of us, my wife is generally the stronger person, and whenever this has happened in my own family we've always put our shoulders down, plowed through, and taken the hits as they come. This time around, she's an emotional wreck and it's been an incredibly emotionally tough process (and we've only just begun).
At any rate, I don't post this sort of thing often, so you all don't know how much of a "port in the storm" this has place has been for me in the past - even as my posting has declined over the past few months, BoB has still been an escape for me, and I thank you all for it. For now, prayers (if that's your thing), good mojo, karma, or just a "go get 'em slugger" would be much appreciated.
