Bonfiglioli seems like quite a character! I've heard good things about his pipes, but have no personal experience.

If anyone does have a review for this pipe, please consider posting it to pipereviews.org. I'd love to collect a review on this pipe maker.

Thanks,

Martin

I have a Bonfiglioli pipe, a billiard. You can see the maker's big personality in the stamping--the shank is heavily covered in different stamps--one for maker, city, icon, finish, briar type, and a special "CHEAP *******" stamp indicating his seconds line. That last bit made it a great value--it's got two tiny sand pits on a smooth finish, and that knocked down the price by a big chunk.

Martin, I'll try to bring it into my rotation a few times this week and write a pipereviews blurb for it!

My one-and-lonely Bonfig. Oops. how do I upload the photo? figured it out, I think.

Cool shots, and great looking pipe!

I should add, if it isn't apparent in the pics, it is a large pipe, one of my largest. It is also a really great smoke! It started my bamboo collection which now stands at 10.

I want to say that Park Lane aka cigarsandpipes.com used to have a few Bonfigliolis, but can't be sure since I have a crappy memory. They changed their website since the last time I checked and I don't see any of them anymore.

Thanks much for all the feedback and the picture (it’s a beautiful pipe). I did find the Bonfiglioli pipe on a couple websites, but the pipes I saw were all a bit too big for me - some of them XX. So I exchanged a few emails with Bonfiglioli yesterday and he’s going to make one for me. I sent him all the specs so it might take a bit of time before I get it, but that’s fine. I can wait. I’ll post a picture of it when I get it. I’m having him make a medium sized, slightly bent pot shape, with a reddish hue smooth bowl, a 150th anniversary Italian union silver band and a white bit.

I have one pictured below. He makes pretty chunky, large pipes in general. It is a good smoker, but has a few external flaws. He sells at such a reasonable price for a hand made pipe, I think they just don't take the time and expense to correct some of the imperfections. I have heard the same complaints from other owners. Decent smoker, but pretty much a journeyman pipe in quality.

Okay, thanks for the feedback. We'll see what he comes up with.
