I reply to a post and hit enter. Instead of the box that says something like "your post has been entered successfully....etc" and then takes you to the post after a few seconds it just spins around and never resolves.

Yet clicking on the home page at the top and then selecting the right forum from the index, it shows the post as entered.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I've been experiencing two issues this past week.........

1. Notifications in email are no longer quick links. I either have to copy and paste the line or search for the topic in the forum.

2. I post a comment and am told someone posted whilst I was typing, do I want to still post? I say yes, then find it is my post that posted, so I need to delete the redundant post.

Curious............

Nothing strange happening to me here but, I wouldn't doubt any of this happening from time to time.
These forums have quirky little things happening all the time it seems. Ya might want to check to see if you've unknowingly download some malware from some place. It's not hard to do. ;)
Malwarebytes is a free Anti-Malware, just make sure you download it from there site and run a scan with your browser closed. ;)

Brew and Ozark caught us, we've specifically been screwing with you two during the month of January. No worries, the month is almost over.

Being serious, I have no clue and there's no reports coming in from the French about issues.

Rande, I've been having the same problem here for a couple of months now. It seems to be related to what device I'm posting from though. My windows phone is the worst about it where as my iPhone doesn't seem to have any issues with it.

While I'm relieved to hear I'm not the only one experiencing this, I only post from home on the same pc. And all other sites I frequent (not there's that many) are not affected, so I don't believe it's a malware issue.

And this kinda comes and goes. It started infrequently a week or so ago and disappeared entirely until the other day. Restarted the computer last night and now it seems to be gone - so far!

Cripes Rande.

Sounds like this is a real pain in the backside. I have noticed that things change too; I'm still getting all manner of ads appear on a banner underneath the BoB logo. I went through a period of trying to figure it out and then gave up, my efforts going into trying to live with it rather than resolve it.

Can you live with it mate or does it need resolving by the admin team?

This syndrome has been much in evidence over the past few days. Sometimes I cannot even connect to the forums much less post to a thread.

I've resorted to restarting the computer, sometimes multiple times/day. This seems to help for a little while and then we're back to the same crap. It's like the purveyors of the banner ads on the top of the page want you to click on their ads and nothing else since that's all that is shown.

I'd like to be rid of the banner ads once and for all. They didn't start showing up until about a year ago and didn't seem to be be much of a problem at first. At least as far as the normal day to day here on the forum.

And they may or may not have anything to do with what I'm experiencing, but it's coincidental. Anyone who can help please weigh in. I'm getting pretty frustrated.

And I hasten to add, no other sites seem to be affected!

pm me if you wish. I use Ubuntu/firefox.

No Cheers!!!

My ads have taken residence over the top page of the first three rows. This has been a few days now, and after a (not too extensive) pre-Spring Cleaning on the smoke signaler I use here, I'm pretty sure it is a site glitch. No worries, it'll get fixed......

yea, it's annoying no?

This is from From Forumotion

Dear members,

We currently have some issues with Serving.   Uploading pictures is not possible for the moment.   We are doing our best to manage the situation as fast as possible.
You can also have some issues with CSS.

Thanks for your patience.

So there ARE some problems but apparently it's not affecting everyone on the board. I'll keep checking for updates on their progress on this.

I don't see any ads

Same problem here!

Interesting. Last few weeks I'll go to open a forum or a topic and it will automatically open a new window that's an advertising site. Which sounds nothing like whats going on for you BD

Jim

If you are logged in, you should not be seeing any ads. Ads are for those who are not members, or not logged in.

Yes, there is a malware bug going around. The Cloudfront virus/malware thing.

I am actively blocking Internet ads using Firefox on Linux Mint 17 while making use of Adblock Plus and Ghostery. I consider advertising to be an assault upon me. I do not give a damn if it helps to pay for operation of a web site. It is still an assault in my opinion.

I get a small advertising banner at the top of the page, under the Home, Calendar, FAQ, etc. links.

I've always had the little add banner. This is my first run in with the links to topics taking me to ads. At first I found it kind of amusing but that wore off really fast.

Relieved to learn it's not just me. And it comes and goes, doesn't happen everytime but when it does it's very annoying.

I'll look into Adblock to see if I can download it, but seems to me the one time I tried to do this with some other similar thing it wouldn't install.

Cheers,

RR
