as I had mentioned b4 I had acquired some pipes from a friend of mine who's father had passed away, I finally rounded up some tools and worked on a half dozen of them today most are Dr.Grabow pipes but there are a few other drugstore pipes like a few whitehalls, some yelo boles, Medico, I also think I may have two falcon bowls that I cannot find the bottom to, but I have a box that says flacon and two screw on bowls with rounded bottoms that wont fit on the vikings, all the Viking bowls have flat bottoms, there was also a couple of Dr.Grabow CDL pipes that are rather interesting and I think they ended up looking pretty good here are some pics I know that aren't Dunnies, or Petersons, or no fancy freehands but cleaning these up I think gave me more appreciation for the pipe,
Hope you enjoy the pics

Here is one of the CDL pipes I like this ones shape more than the other

I also was given a couple of pipe humidors/racks I have yet to find the jar for this one yet I think it may have been broken but I have my fingers crossed
the other pipes in the rack are the other pipes I also cleaned up today

If anyone has any experiences with the viking or CDL I would be interested in hearing their thoughts, I did read the CDL was an experimental pipe that was not produced for very long, for those who don't know the CDL stands for "Cool, Dry, Light"

Thanks for looking,
Harry

That's a really lovely job you've done there - they look really smashing.

That first one really does it for me, and that's saying something, as my preference is for Danish freehands. I think it's the sleek elegance of it.

Is that a carburettor hole at the front of the bowl?

I'd be interested in how they smoke, as I've seen one for sale recently and could be tempted......

Those are really unique pipes! I would enjoy adding something similar to my collection!

No it is just an air hole about a 1/4 inch from the bottom of the bowl, I have never smoked them I just thought they were interesting so I cleaned them up, they actually look like he smoked them frequently so I am guessing he liked them.
I still need to clean up the bits, I didn't have the proper buffing compounds and implements to finisih them off completely
