I'm still new to all of this but I feel the early signs of PAD and TAD already settling in....

I love my Savinelli and my MM Country Gentleman, but I want a bulldog as well.

Pipes And Cigars has an introductory sale on Royal Dutch briar pipes, $199 pipes for $99 and they have a bulldog....

However, I'm guessing this is a new brand because I can't find much on it.

Anyone familiar? Is it a good buy or better off to wait and look at other brands?

I'm going to assume they mean the Royal Dutch Pipe Factory which is own by Gubbel's and manufactures Big Ben's. Royal Dutch pipe may been a second of there's.
They've been in business since the 1800's.;)
Although I haven't a clue how they smoke never owning one.

I think you're right about the company. I just ordered it, the Royal Dutch 457 Bulldog. We shall see how it is!

Nice looking pipe. I'm pretty sure I've got a Royal Dutch somewhere in my collection; I'll have to dig it up.

I'm liking it. Gurgles here and there, but a pipe cleaner once a smoke is good enough, and it gets better with each smoke.

I finally dug out my Royal Dutch.  It's as I rememberd; kind of an odd little pipe, with a decent blast (it's stamped Sand Grain) and a flat wide shank.   Despite being a fairly small pipe it holds a reasonable fill of tobacco, and has the added advantage of fitting rather nicely in the breast pocket of a hunting coat or fishing vest.  This one goes back to the late '70's or early '80's.  Looks like the bit needs a spruce up...

Looks like a splendid pipe to me. I'll bet it smokes well.

Cheers,
