I got a notice from the post office they needed to see me. Sounded like in the old days when I got called to the principals office. YEAH, that lost box of Patels finally showed up,,,I thought. But I got handed a clear plastic bag with paper scraps and a letter inside. An apology to me for an unfortunate handling accident due to faulty equipment. "Contents may have been lost or damaged". Aside from my address label and some shredded yellow packing envelope all that survived was a busted wood dowel a couple inches long with a 9mm case on the end.
A TAMPER,,,well, a broken tamper. I have no clue who was thoughtful enough to send me this gift, or why you felt I deserved it
(you can fool some of the people some of the time,,,,) but it's a great gift, I'll clean up the broken end and she'll be good to go. Thanks for thinking of me, and please speak up and take a bow as a true brother. (and so I know who to get even with)

At least they 'fessed up. The post office, I mean. Wonder what they thought of the casing--and when? Hope it didn't trigger a lockdown and bomb squad disposal team, resulting in chaos and the destruction of your package. But that could never happen, could it? ;)

Not too long ago I had ordered a white polo shirt that finally arrived days late, in one of those clear plastic postal envelopes with the Sorry sticker on it. Looked like a truck ran it over, big black tread marks all over my white shirt.

At the moment, I have a pipe en route from an EBay seller in Great Britain. The tracking shows it went through New York on the 1st, arrived and subsequently left New Jersey on the 3rd, then reappeared in New Jersey again on the 6th...... This don't sound good..... I'm hoping my pipe isn't a matched set to your tamper :x

Doesn't the USPS have to pay some sort of recompense for this sort of thing? That's just really crappy. Is this why you have to insure your stuff, because of screw us like this?

Even if you insure it you will have to fight that it was packaged right.. and short of doing it with a video camera in front of the post master your going to lose that fight.. USPS is the cheapest, but it's also the hardest to deal with on damages.

Well all I can say is thanks to the brother that thought of me and it works great in my little cavicchi flake pipe which I'm smoking now with some Union Square.

Hold up.

Broke twig. 9mm shells.

I hope you're right, it's been in the states 7 days now and hasn't even made it out of the New York New Jersey area, an item that was supposed to be delivered from England Priority mail Intl' in 5-8 days (shipped 02-27).
