That Golden Contrast is nice. Got to love that finish. Too bad they are not made in Denmark anymore.

Really nice!
Where is that pipe made now, What do the markings look like??

Either way, that is really nice, Love the Birdseye on that bowl bro!!

The birdseye is really outstanding, love the swirling effect that is created.

beaut! i scored a denmark made stanwell canadian a month ago. not really a looker, but such an easy smoke. really love the brand.

The markings on this pipe read: STANWELL, P.C.I. 85, MADE IN DENMARK, 0031. :pirat:

hmm...sounds like it was made in denmark. :D does she smoke as good as she looks?

It's a good smoker, but I really need to have the stem buffed. I've used some stem cleaner, but it still has a slightly sour taste from oxidation. Any advice?

i'm no help (typical!), but i'm sure someone will be. LL? Sas? Piet?

It's a looker for sure. Beauty it is!

Are the new ones not as good as the older ones made in Denmark?

Until someone produces a Stanwell that's not stamped made in Denmark I really wish people would quit saying 'shame it wasn't made in Denmark'

They can't stamp made in Denmark if it wasn't regardless of how bad they wanted..its against International and Regional trade laws....

Lets use a little logic fellers.... If you could just stamp 'made in------'
do you really think you could buy anything 'made in China ' no..
Al cars would be German.. all wines would be French...all vodka would be Russian..
all silk would be..um where ever silk is famous for being from..
opossums (lol.. spell check corrected iPhone to opssoms...lol ) would say 'made in cupertino'.. bit none of that's true...
how do you imagine a small pipe making factory...or even a large one could get away with false stampings????? Customs would stop it coming and going. The Danish government would file UN suit.....

What your getting marked made in Denmark is very much made in Denmark... they spit out several hundred thousand pipes a year... that supply don't dry up overnight

Of course, the legacy stock of Danish made Stanwells will probably last a good long time. One can probably new buy 'Danish made' Stanwells for the foreseeable future. Since the original post was about the 'Danish' nature of Stanwell, I was just pointing out the fact of the recent transfer of manufacturing to Italy. As for the Golden Contrast finish (which was only for the European market), I do wonder if that will still be produced. And, who knows, the Italian production might turn out to be fantastic. Time will tell.

I need a bowing down icon for Kapnis' knowledge.
