We moved into our house in 2006 and it came with a Gen Air duel fuel range.
For those of us who aren't in the know, which included me, that means it has gas burners and an electric oven. We recently acquired a Thermador duel fuel range at an estate sale. Unfortunately, it has some issues that have to be addressed. Nevertheless, based on the few meals I have prepared the general consensus is that they are better than those made on our previous stove.

Have you found that the stove makes any difference in your meals?

This of course does not include those prepared on a camp fire.

Oddly enough yes the stove can make a difference in your cooking. My opinion is that certain Stoves generate higher btu from the same or similar settings which depending on your particular cooking style can bump you up or totally push you over the edge of dispare. The range I'm currently saddled with is old and in serious need of cleaning and tuning but as I'm just a renter the guy doesn't give a flip. I burn more food than I serve some nights. Very temperamental and hard to control. With a good quality clean and tuned set up you can really shine.

All I know is that the high end, professional style and built in appliances can be temperamental and very expensive to repair out of warranty.
