I'm assuming at least a handful here have them...   Wanna share a pic of your rig?  Or just talk about what you have?

I've got a Bushmaster 90289 M4 bone stock.   And I've been happy with it the entire time I've owned it until Saturday.

I made one of my oh so rare "out of the house" trips Saturday to KyGunCo.  I hadn't been since before my first surgery last year and was having a good day so it was suggested a trip was in order.

I got to handle one of Windham Weaponry's Frank Proctor rigs.. Holy smokes if it shoots as well as it felt in hand I can't imagine much better..    Til.  I picked up the Daniel Defense DDM4... That's a nice weapon too..  And the Jesse James rifle was interesting, nothing "dream about it" worthy but it was kinda cool in an aesthetic manner.   Rock River, FN, and S&W stuff was everywhere on the shelves.  Even a few Tavor and SCAR.  All around good outing.

We were almost home when I realize I hadn't bought a single thing so I stopped into Knob Creek and picked up some ammo just to feel good about the day.

I wanted to shoot a bit when I got home but honestly I needed someone on my non cane hand side at that point to stay upright so it was out of the question.   Today I went out in the back yard and blasted a few mags through the Bushy and some through the 10/22.  It felt good.

I've been looking and dreaming about a home brew 3gun type AR all evening.  Probably base it off of a Spikes lower at this point, more for the Spider than any other reason.   Lol.

Sold mine a bit ago when money is tight. I usually build my own out of quality parts. Next build will be another 6.8 or might do a 6.5 this time.

Did someone say Black Rifle?????  Some I still have, some have gone their way.  All built myself.

Wait, no.  I don't have any of these.  All lost in a tragic boating accident . . .

Number 1 is Tacticool fer sure. Lol. Are they all 5.56? Funny how all those boating accidents happen huh. Seriously though, I used to be all anal about not even mentioning being a gunnut online much less admitting ownership.. But I live next to Ft Knox, with the constant helicopters and the known drone activity (I have a friend that is involved on base) I'm sure their database knows my eating habits and sleeping patterns better than I do myself.

Tarheel, I have no experiance, I'm asking sincerely. The 300,6.8, 6.5, 7.62x39 all basically equivalent to a 30-30 out to a hundred meters? Looking at charts and forum posts and all that jive I like the 6.5 but not enough to duplicate a lever rifle or SKS. At range the 6.5 looks like it really steps out of the crowd but I don't have long enough shooting lanes to take advantage of it. I don't hunt and honestly in a SHTF Zombie pock-a-lips ,lol, I'm pretty well limited to bugging in.

Not a single black rifle here. I have been wondering if there is something wrong with me. I just mounted three scopes over the weekend. I have been loading ammo to spend the summer shooting and testing. Ordered two more 40mm ammo cans to store ammo in.

I do have an 1888 Commission rifle in 8x57. Will that count?

Yeah, I actually give up on trying to be sneaky. They have records of so many of my purchases that they know, without a doubt, that I am a gun owner.

The top one is the "go to" one, though interestingly my favorite is the bottom one, old iron sights and all. Dot sights do help, but I'm not really into much more than that after many rounds fired. I learned to shoot these when the A2 was new and Alice gear was the standard, so all these new doo-dads are a tad much for me.

I've got ALICE in the closet full of suck gear.

I'm with you on the Optics.    All that other stuff may be fine for some but I like my irons and I can score hits with them. I'm Low Speed High Drag now but I can still aim..lol.    BTW  Old school A2 is pretty slick.
