Never thought I’d call -3f with a light breeze balmy but after what we’ve had and what’s still coming it sure felt comfortable for my morning smoke.

Here I am again at 3f having the same tobacco, Condor ready rubbed, in the MM Twain with Creamsicle Swirl Forever Stem. Keep it smokey.

Looks like a brrrrrrr cold day to me Mr. Banjo. Good that you're muffled up but still able to enjoy a bowl. Do you not ever smoke inside the house???

I am afraid that here in Michigan, I haven't been able to enjoy any piping lately. I only smoke outdoors and the frigid weather has been too dangerous for me to take the dog out for a run on the park as well.

Holding out for some sort of "heat wave" soon :)

I'm also a New Englander, though one from the south in western Mass, who also smokes outside only. Although our winters aren't quite as severe as Maine's, they're fine competitors. Anyway, I usually limit my lengthy smokes of an hour or more to when the temps are in the 20's. I set up a nice space in my tool shed, and if it's not windy and the sun is out, one of the doors will be open.

This morning is in the single digits after yesterday's snowstorm but it's sunny and should creep up into the teens this afternoon. I think I'll be tempted to fill a Dagner poker cob with some VA #22 I've just recently started smoking and park myself somewhere out in that sunshine.

Not as hardcore as Sir Banjo, I know, but I think I have an inkling of his piping rituals. And Mr monbla256, while I do have much respect for you, I can assure you that smoking outside whatever the temperature, is definitely not stupid.

Well we had a doozy of a nor’easter blizzard yesterday and -14f will be tonight’s temperature without counting windchill and winds 40-70 mph so outdoor smoking will be limited. To answer your question brewdude the last time I smoked in the House was 1992 while recuperating from knee surgery I had started smoking outside in 1987 and did so there and in my vehicles except for that recuperation period in 1992. I don’t mind it but it was nicer out of the wind but after losing Levi, my Weimaraner, a year ago November I couldn’t bring myself to drive my Mercedes SL500 any longer so I sold it, that was where I smoked out of the weather.

Yeah, we had the rev' up of that storm, single digits with 50 mph winds and 10 - 12" of snow after all was said and done. Last night's snow "removal" was a bad joke - plowing forward blindly as the snow blasted back in my face, no way to know if any progress was made until I looked back.

I poked my head out to test the air a few minutes ago, and it's still too cold and windy to try to get a good pipe smoke, even in the confines of my trusty shed. Ah well, next week a heart wave is expected, temps in the thirties for a few days starting Monday. Can't wait!
