I saw this on ebay i really liked the blasted finish and wanted a poker so I nabbed it.
This pipe was made for The Tinder Box, I can't dig up any info on them other than the Tinder Box had them made for them by different pipe makers, the pipe says made in England... just cause I am a curious guy I was wondering would anyone happen to know anything about who may have made it?

Thanks ,
Harry

I've heard Charatan as well. I love a slightly bent Poker, good grab!

This poker seems to have been barely smoked, the bottom of the bowl had little to no cake, still almost the color of briar,, the stem is vulcanite, I guess ill need to learn how to care for vulcanite

Charatan and Comoy's made many of their pipes back in the 70's particularly the "Unique" line. Here's a link to some of the "Unique" line pipes made by Charatan as well as the ones made by Comoy's. http://www.otcpipes.com/tinderbox

I have a Shell finished Relief Grained Lane era 484DC poker that is an exact duplicate of your "Cumberland" , Check the style number and see if it's not the same except for the DC which indicated a "Double Comfort" stem which were only used on Charatans as I recall, not on the "contract" pipes they made for others. Looks like that ought to be a good smoker :p
