My new pipe rest...

Birdrest002_zps5a5fa3ca.jpg

The pipe is my old Royal Danish Author. Please don't pay too much attention to the pipe stem; I'll admit it is a LITTLE discolored, but not nearly as bad as it looks in the photo; something about the flash makes it look worse than it looks in person. But, I do need to get my Dave's kit after that one  !

I have two Royal Danish pipes. Stanwell seconds. Very nice find.

That's a unique stand, I really like it. Most of the animal-themed ones are porcelain or ceramic, but that one looks made of wood...unless I'm mistaken.

Most of mine are made out of a pressed material called "syroco" but that one does look like wood.

I wonder if that's the material the funny little pipe recliner and loveseat are made...looks resin-like but, I could be wrong. I just like 'em.

Yep, here's more than you'll ever want to know about Syroco...

The two right most stands are syroco, the others some kind of pot metal.
Al, thanks so much for posting this link. I am a SYROCO fan as well, but didn't know the history behind the company. I have 3 SYROCO pipe racks, as well as a humidor and pipe rest. I need to get them posted to the vintage tobacciania thread. 8)
