Two tips for bone-dry smokes every time -- Yak tested & approved

One from the late (& most lamented) :king: : tilt the pipe stem downward in smoking (presupposing
1) a straight pipe -- all of :king: 's were billiards
and
2) hand-held.

Keeps saliva from finding its way into the stem, Which, in my case, it somehow does even though the geometry involved would make that seem impossible)

And One from Marty Pulvers : moving the stem deeper into your mouth by enough to notice cuts this down even further.

As a noted philosopher once said,
It just works
:face:

Three cheers. I don't care how often Sasquatch feminizes the notion of a straight pipe, I like 'em, and they often smoke drier than my 1/8 & 1/4 bents. Especially in the cold, when condensation is more likely to occur. I always sit and enter the time-slowing ritual of the pipe, and I like holding my fine pieces of art by hand--I discovered this engages me, allows consistent elevation control, and probably cut my learning curve to a dry smoke quite a bit.

Yeah, it works. 8)

Well Brew,
they may have overthought this, but, I have to say, it sorta makes sense.
and all this time , I was thinking I should keep the stem high, /bowl down, to keep the wet stuff from climbing the stem, and thereby reaching my tongue.

hmmm? my next smoke tonight will be in a churchwarden  I dont know if it'll work , but I'll try it I guess
