Had O The Wynd. My first go at this, I was underwhelmed and dissapointed. I found it bland and didn't get the hype. We'll, looking at my cellar this morning, I saw that Hal jar and thought maybe it's time to revisit this one.

Perhaps it's my evolution as a pipe smoker, maybe the time in the jar did it, either way the smoke I had with it this morning was fantastic! The Red Virginia sweetness was there throughout with some light tangy sour notes and deep in the background the earthy Kentucky lent a nice depth of flavor, with some sweetness of its own. At least that's how it came across to me. I have to wonder what I was thinking the first time I brushed this one off... it is phenomenal! Pipe smoking as it should be... excellent!

Patience leads to excellence.

I feel FVF is the same way. FVF needs at least a year in the tin. It's not that good fresh. wait 5-7 years and you're one happy customer.
