I grabbed this Savinelli from an estate sale and have never seen this style in the Savinelli line before. Can anybody help me as far as when it was made and worth?

Thanks.

I've Googled it with no luck at all. I'm completely stumped. Maybe somebody out there knows of a Savinelli collector?

No idea what Saninelli called this pipe, but the shape is a traditional Alpie or Tyrolean design. Usually the bowl on these is made of porcelin with a rustic wooden stem with a hard rubber or plastic mouthpiece.

I agree but this Savinelli has a vulcanite stem and briar bowl. This is stamped on the bowl ring. (See photo.)

What's odd is Zenith pipes of Holland are an entirely different company from Savinelli. Maybe it's the result of a repair job?

I'm quite sure it's not a repair because both stampings are of the same font and size and the pipe was very lightly smoked. There's no indication of a repair as both metal rings are of the same thickness and patina. Possibly at one point these two companies merged on a line of pipes?

I don't know what dates or worth but I have found two similar versions on Ebay recently, a smooth briar bowl and a porcelain bowl. Definitely Savinelli but must be a collaboration with Zenith of Holland. The box has a address of "Distributed by//Savinelli Pipes Inc//Decatur Indiana 46733". Does anyone know when Savinelli was based in Decatur?

Savinelli's US operation is based in Morrisville, NC just about 10 miles from my home. Unfortunately they will not sell to the general public.
