In early April, I bought 2 estate pipes online from VegasSmokes.com for $150.00. That same day, my credit card was charged $101.00. I figured that one of the pipes had already been sold, which would explain the lower charge (although the email receipt listed 2 pipes). After 3 weeks, nothing, so I email twice within a week. No reply. Then I tried phoning, but always got an answering machine. Finally in mid-May I got to talk to a living person who told me he would ask to the head of shipping to track the package, which would take a few days. A week later, I phone again and I am told that the package with the 2 pipes had shipped, but since I did not receive anything and it now has been six weeks, they would declare the package lost. In order to make it up to me, I was told I could get a refund on my credit card or choose a pipe from their web site with a really good discount, which the “boss” apparently had already approved. I chose a pipe, the person went to check if it was available, it was, and he had it in his hands as we spoke. He assured me that he would ship it that same day. Three weeks go by, still no pipe, but a charge for $64.00 from VegasSmokes now appears on my credit card. I phone to ask why this charge had been made to my credit card without my permission and without informing me about it. I was told, for the first time in all of our conversations, that only one pipe had been shipped, and the charge was to make up for the difference between the pipe I had chosen as a replacement and the $101.00 originally charged to my credit card. At this point, some 2 months later, I had enough. I told the person on the phone to cancel everything. I was told it was not possible because the replacement pipe had already been shipped. I told him what I thought of his business ethics and hung up. That same day, I checked their web site, and the pipe I had chosen, and was according to them shipped, was still for sale. I contacted my credit card company and they accepted to refund me. It is now a month later and the pipe they “shipped” still has not shown up, and I am sure will never show up.
There are many competent and reputable pipe and tobacco dealers do business with, so think twice about dealing with VagasSmokes.com
