Tonight I returned a book to the library which gave me the opportunity to try Velvet early. Cheap MM cob. It seemed to me to be a good example of a lightly flavored aeromatic. Tasty, but it won't make it into my rotation- if one should ever form. I couldn't quite define the flavoring added.
So far it's middle of the pack for codgers, I like PA better and Carter Hall less.
Tomorrow morning, I'll try grainger.
Good night everybody, God bless us.

Passing the quarter mark of this bowl of year 2002 F&T Cut Virginia Plug in a straight smooth brown 1920s LHS Purex double patent no. 1587048 and 19085630 Real Briar Root Silver Circle 42 apple with a tapered black vulcanite stem.

Just finished smoking Wilke No. 515 Double Shot in a smooth dark medium bend 2021 Peterson Heritage Brown POTY 4AB No. 45/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. This is No. 515 with twice the rum of the Basil Rathbone blend. Finished cleaning a few pipes, too.

Good Morning!
I had a busy day yesterday, we moved the cleaned out the turkey stall, moved the 45 chicks from their temporary home into the stall and cleaned up their old area. After we finished a friend stopped by to check on the sheep and his chickens. All with occasional breaks for GLP Westminster in various cobs. Lynda and I did chores this morning and now I'm enjoying GLP Westminster in an MM Apple Diplomat along with a k-cup.

Finishing the MMBB I started last night. I'm sidelined by my back again, cold wet weather, weeding shrub beds and picking stones all day yesterday. I can't seem to spend the day curled up in a ball, crouching, and bent over. I was too inactive this past winter and the activity curve is steeper than usual for me this spring.

Well, I just tried this because the ABS was lacking in flavor. The mixture turned out to be mostly Rum and Maple, but with maybe a little more interest. Not something I particularly recommend, and I had only mixed a very small batch. I later discovered that the ABS was dry. But when I humidified the ABS a bit, the flavor was much better. I do think, though, that I may start trying a few aromatic English blends.
If you like ABS you might want to try McB H&H Burley Flake. Pretty good blend and quite a lot of Lat flavor.

Good morning friends,
Today I tried Grainger on my walk to work, as I said I would. It was a really pleasant smoke and takes the crown for my favorite codger blend thus far, and my favorite burley.
Smoked it out of my cheap mm cob.
The bottle was painted by my wife.

Tomorrow I try the highly compressed mess of several codger blends. I don't really have expectations of it being good, but I'll have fun!

Good morning BoBs. Very busy day yesterday. Didn't get home from our Legion meeting till after dark, so no time for piping. Just finishing up a bowl of CS Choctaw in a Lorenzo Old Vic giant bent billiard with morning coffee. Trying to decide what to have for a 2nd bowl. While at the ranch yesterday discovered that Cochise has contacted ringworm. So have to go out this morning and treat his infection before the farrier comes at 10. Then Ranger lunch at noon. So another busy morning. Have a great day my friends.

I remember those serialized Tarzan novels, I was also a big fan of the serialized Conan novels.

Setting up a bowl of SB&G in my Rossi Canadian sitter. I don't think I've shown this one off yet. You can see the size difference between the Canadian and the Lumberman in the second image. I like the informal feel of it relative to the Rossi Rubino Canadian I have.

Today, on my 48th birthday, I am enjoying my most prized pipe, a 1953 patent era Dunhill LB, filled with my favorite blend, Scottish Cake. Black coffee on the side. My wife brought me donuts for breakfast, a special treat I indulge in only rarely. A light breeze through the trees with a slightly overcast sky. A fine morning. Hope everyone enjoys their day.

Happy Birthday!

What a day to be alive, its absolutely gorgeous here in the UK today. So before heading down to the pub for a meal and quiz night, I'm going to fill a bowl of St.Bruno, in a MFL St.Bruno. Another perfect marriage of Briar and Leaf.
I hope everyone is having as awesome a day, as the one I'm having.
