About six months ago there was a flurry of interest in the "reverse calabash" pipe. Some discussion took place here at BoB but nothing has been mentioned recently. Has it faded into obscurity or is the concept alive? Anyone have one, have information, or a further opinion?

There are many owners of this style over on the SmokersForums, they all seem to love the way they smoke. I've not yet been bold enough myself.

I bet someone did acquire one, and one of two things happened:
A.) They were sucked into a reverse vortex(!), and are now stuck in the chamber of
their pipe, waiting for someone to release them, genii like... or
B.) It proved to be such a fantastic smoke that they are keeping mum about it, so as
not to trigger a buying frenzy among the hordes...

Rub that pipe, yo!

:lol!: :lol!: :lol!:

As this hobby quickens into hip-ville and as...well, hobbies do, there's bound to be fads and whatnot. Is this one? *shrug* Who knows. If not, the next one is just around the corner. I think it's always been that way with pipes.

It's mostly Russians who are copying Revyagin's work who are doing reverse calabashes right now. A few came out of Eltang's workshop and it seems that every once in a while someone gives it a shot.

A new one popped up at ScandPipes recently, but it was gone immediately.

J&J pipes just did a double reverse Calabash pipe.

I want to get a reverse Calabash, but I can't afford one, so...

I plan on making myself one, when I have some time
