Just re-visited this flick after many years- This is the Oliver Stone film, starring Val Kilmer as Jim Morrison. It's a very dark portrayal, sometimes disturbing, always entertaining. Some say that it takes way too much artistic licence and therefore not accurate. Me, I dunno... I grew up listening to the Doors back in the day, and they were certainly not your typical 60's pop group. Something more earthy and primeval as well as experimental, as in taking a story and making it surrealistic. I didn't know all that at the time though, only that I dug them. Anyway, I enjoy this film. Jim Morrison flamed out far too early, of his own accord of course, in the cacophony of the times. Be that as it may. Pity. Cheers, RR
