Figures. Ready to spring, and nothing to pounce on.....

Perhaps the beginning of the month.............?

I'm a Rattray's fan of a few of their blends. SP has been out of Marlin Flake for a while. I was told last week it should be back in stock mid November. But I've been told that before :lol!: :lol!:

KEEP ON PUFFING!!!

Hmmm... when I started smoking a pipe back in 2012 marlin flake was one of the blends that was NEVER in stock on any site, but then, after about 6-9 months of searching it was always available... so I think I think it'll come around. Nice tobacco that I smoke as a treat from time to time.

That's right, I remember now......

It's your fault I found out about it! Just HAD so send me some of that, and seduce me with the wiles of a Scottish version of a Virginia based flake made in Germany. Opened my eyes to a big, scary world of sins and delights......

Thanks (Not so old) Nate!! I owe you one........

:D

I have noticed that Marlin Flake, like a few other blends, for instance F&T Cut Virginia Plug, Dan's Mellow Mallard & Patriot Flake, Sillem's Councilor, RMc Scottish Flake, will all go through periods of scarcity. For a while I thought it was something having to do with availability of some of the ingredients. But I would imagine it has more to do with a combination of supply vs demand, popularity, or in the case of Mellow Mallard & Councilor a cult following that snaps up a lot of the limited amount of tins that are put to market. With Marlin Flake, I think it's a popularity thing. Lots of piper's enjoy it and K&K can't make it fast enough so there will be a period of time where the market is empty.

D&B, I hope your right. SP has not has Marlin Flake in stock for over 8 months. That's one I would purchase a few cans of for sure. It's like Rattray's Bagpipers Dream, once you smoke a bowl or two your hooked. I've never smoked a Rattray's I did not enjoy

I would imagine that if one were to call around you'd find some Marlin Flake pretty quickly. My local tobacconist sells it by the ounce, but not at the nice price.

J&R in Selma NC has a number of 100 gram cans of Marlin Flake but very pricey! It's about 25 minutes from me so I will check it out tomorrow. I'm fine with B&M prices to support them, but J&R is twice the price of my regular online tobacco retailers. But $60.00 for 2 cans.....geeeeeeeeez!

KEEP ON PUFFING!!!

D&B, thanks for the info.. Just found it and it's available for $20.80 for the 100g can @
