This classic rusticated billiard with bamboo shank comes from the dark side of the earth. Although it is unmarked it was never intended to be since it was the Pipemaker's personal fishing pipe and sent to me as a gift when I purchased one of his special pipes called Just Once.

Jean de Toit is the Pipemaker's name but the pipe world knows his pipes by the name Pietenpaw Pipes. Keeping it smokey this early cool Saturday morning with some Capstan Yellow.

Would that I one day be as expansive in my pipe artisan friendship book as Mister Banjo, and as erudite in my(his) vast array of lovely pipes.  In the meantime, I continue to soak up each photo and whatever accompanying verbiage given with pure pleasure.  I've said it before, but it bears repeating again and again:  Thank You for sharing your wonderful collection (and stories) while you journey through life keeping it smokey!
