Inked both the 159 and X159 up with Noodlers Heart of Darkness. Both write wonderfully. Must admit though I like the weight if the older 159, just feels better in my hand.

After using it for a few days, the one issue I have with the x159 is the 3 full rotations it takes to remove the lid. Not a huge deal, but seems to take forever to get the cap off sometimes.

BH, you are such a bad influence, lol. Cruising Ebay yesterday for pipes and an ad popped up for the Jinhao. Couldn't believe it, but I got the black and silver for $8.50 with shipping and tax. Does it use regular bottle ink? Or are the cartridges better?
It should come with a converter to use bottle ink (at least mine did). Otherwise it can also take standard cartridges.
It uses either…but ”international” cartridges only…not Pilot, Platinum, Lamy, etc. I would not use glitter, shimmer, etc. ink types.

Yeah. I’m in on this too. Just ordered mine from electronic bay. Does anyone want to recommend some ink(s) so I can get started? I’ve got a couple weeks til it gets here
Did someone say INKS? Oh goody. So what use will you put your pen & ink to? Does it need to be bullet proof (actual ink terminology)? Do you like/want colored ink? If so, how wild? Etc.

Did not need a fountain pen but when I saw these on ebay for $6 I couldn't resist. Have the black and silver coming. $8.50 with tax and shipping. Colored ones were $8.
