Got my first Pete 312 system, unsmoked from the 1970's for $50 Aussie from an antique store over the road from my work.

It was a bit ghosted from being in grandma's soap drawer, but I smoked through that. Mmm lavender.

Found some really good smoking related things in that store. I was their only customer interested in tobaccania so they would set aside all smoking stuff for me. Lovely couple. Sad covid killed the store but it had been slowly dying for a while.

Found a Dunhill LB and an early Peterson billiard at a flea market; moved the Dunny but still have the Pete. I once found a smoking stand at an antique store; looked through the rest of the store and when I went back to buy it, it was gone! My wife insisted I buy this one instead; it was a lot more money and I was a grad student and we were living on my graduate assistantship...

Garage sale...Big cardboard box filled with pipes, tobacco tins of all sorts, plus the usual paraphernalia!! Down in one lowly corner was a 7 oz. blue & black tin of Original Larus Bros. Extra High Grade Sliced Pipe Tobacco!!!!! Not just the dang tin; it was full of dried out tobacco. Dry, but flakes intact!! I casually selected two pipes, some other tins (good stuff, all had been opened to some extent), a couple of tampers, plus the aforementioned blue tin!! Laid my find/s in front of the lady holding the sale, made her a decent offer for the lot...and she accepted!!! I'm still smokin' on that tin, special occasions only, after rehydrating it. FTRPLT
