Tonight the wife and I continue a 43 year Christmas Eve tradition of boiled shrimp with tatees and corn on the cob boiled together. I have the Rossi 8616 (like a Savinelli 616 only cheaper and smokes better) fired up with Prince Albert.
The work is outstanding! I read the whole expose and marvelled at the bird's eye revealed by the restoration. I was equally impressed by the repair to the stem, I would have thought it was beyond recovery. I hope you enjoy this pipe for years to come!I just stepped outside to enjoy two new goodies: Wilke Surbrug's Bestmake in a pre-republic era Peterson "221" Made in Ireland Prince with sterling silver band. I put 221 in scare-quotes because it was the model number used for the Canadian distributor. I'm pretty sure this is the same as the 406 model. This pipe was restored by Kenneth Lieblich at rebornpipes. If you're curious, you can see what the pipe looked like before Kenneth started the restoration: https://rebornpipes.com/2024/11/30/an-unusual-and-beautiful-peterson-221-sterling-silver-prince/

Hatch, your pipe looks quite a bit like one of mine made by the late Fred Garlinghouse (died 2006). His simple stamp was "Frederick G' as a rule on the bottom of the pipe shank. Fred was known for no fills, leaving a small sandpit as it was. You may find out more info on him on Pipepedia. I have never seen one of his pipes show up on eBay nor any other site. FWIW, FTRPLTSettling down for an afternoon of football. Our son is taking the wife out for a cooking glass so this is sounding like a multi-pipe sorta day. Smoking one my mystery pipes (no one knows the logo) I bought at an Olympic event during LA84. G&H Ennerdale. My fave sparkling Richard’s Rain Water (shameless plug for a local upstart) within easy reach.
