I've been craving a straight "Burley", so having a bowl of Tabac Manil La Volute Semois in an MM Pride raw cob with forever stem. The brick of this came parts that were loose and parts that were clumps. I tried to keep those in clumps, so stuffed two into the bowl thinking it might well affect the flavor plus this stuff burns notoriously fast. I think it worked.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am passing the last third of this bowl of year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Gold Star Papua New Guinea, neat, is my drink. The light rain stopped and Tomato the Brave showed up to eat. He asked for seconds, and he got that, too. It's been a while since I've seen him that hungry. I gave him some attention, and Tomato was as happy as a cat can be. He's outside now. Daisy the Feral Princess is snoozin' on her blanket.

Off to the studio to start work on a new Archie story with a bowl of year 2020 D&R Raccoon’s Delight in my very reliable smooth straight post-1938 pre-Republic Peterson Sterling Canadian 263 with a sterling silver band and a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem.

A package from The Country Squire arrived today, so I am finally able to try some of their blends. First up: Cowboy Coffee in a 1994 Peterson Sherlock Holmes Mycroft with fishtail stem. It has a very pleasant bag aroma with mild scents of smoke, fruit, and tang, nicely balanced. The smoke is creamy, a little spicy, with a touch of sweetness. I think I'm going to enjoy this a lot.

Now smoking year 2021 Watch City Simply VOriental in a straight smooth medium brown 1930s Wilshire 5 bulldog (Comoy’s second) made for John’s Pipe Shop in Los Angeles with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Last smoke of the day: CS Riverboat Queen in a Peterson Dublin Edition smooth brown 999 with nickle band and a vulcanite fishtail stem. The bag note is chocolate and, maybe, raisin. I can taste the chocolate, but it's not as strong as in KBV Burley Morning Pipe. Also a little nuttiness, but I can't say how much is from the burley as opposed to the walnut topping. There is a creaminess to the smoke. This is also a very nice blend.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, orange roughy and snow peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm smoking year 2013 Esoterica Tilbury in a smooth medium bend 1999 Peterson Sherlock Holmes Series Milverton with a sterling silver band and a black vulcanite p-lip stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. Getting ready to clean a few pipes.

Smoking my MM great dane no filter over and over. I love this pipe it doesn't get hot, tuff as nails and love the cheap bit as it keeps the price down but more importantly if I clench it gives a little instead of my teeth. Not a clencher but it catches myself if I do.(y) with backwood red. And feels great in the hand.

Enjoyed a tasty Snap Dragon apple, and am smoking year 2022 Watch City Blue Ridge Special in a straight smooth ebony post-WW2 LHS Sterncrest 91 bulldog with a sterling silver band, a diamond shank and a tapered black vulcanite stem. Working and listening to The Lone Ranger.

Still on the same pipe,
love the cheap bit as it keeps the price down but more importantly if I clench it gives a little instead of my teeth.
I'm ok with the plastic bits, I can't seem to get rid of the plastic taste that the acrylic stems impart. I keep amber straight stems and replace all the bent stems on new pipes. I clean up the sides, fit it to the pipe and heat the stem in water to bend it to my liking.
