Crooner in my Rossi Canadian for a nightcap.
@JimInks have you seen Abner around at all on your walks? Is this long an absence unusual for him?
It's been ten days since we have seen Abner. The last time he hurt his paw, he was gone for two weeks. One time he hurt his leg, and was gone for a week and a half. I know he has another place to go - wherever that is - and I hope he's there getting better. Every time m'lady and I go outside, we look and call for him, so yeah, we are very concerned, and hopeful that he'll return as he has before. Thanks for asking.

Enjoyed a little low calorie snacking, and am smoking Wilke Hearth of Galway in an undated smooth straight medium brown made in France Saillard Lord Clerit lumberman with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Listening to The Shadow from my radio collection.

Half way through this bowl of D&R Windsail in a straight smooth brown undated (1940s?) Orlik Reject London Made 0 bulldog with a black vulcanite saddle stem. I'll end the day with this smoke. Harry went out after he ate. Tomato the Brave came in, ate, and wanted out. Daisy the Feral Princess looked at me with that "are they as dumb as I think they are?" look. She's probably right. :)

Good morning, BoB. Breakfast of Champions, have been looking forward to this since Wednesday. My boss bought a new chainsaw for the course yesterday, it makes my work much easier. It' a Stihl MS 261c, about 3 pounds lighter than the usual saw I use, a Stihl MS 361. Better balanced and with smoother throttle progression than the old one. This amounts to a lot less fatigue when I'm moving through and bucking deadfalls and limbing drops. I was impressed. The old saw is about ten years old and predates my employment at the course.

Passing the quarter mark of this bowl of pre-2014 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Going to check on the ferals soon.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am half way through this bowl of year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. The last of this bag of Gold Star Papua New Guinea, neat, is my drink.

Cleaned a few pipes, enjoyed a great chat with a great friend, and smoked a bowl of year 2012 Esoterica Dunbar in a smooth straight, dark brown early 1960s Lane era Charatan Selected 43 Dublin with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad.

Finally, I'm sitting down for a smoke after an afternoon of cleaning up leaves. It was a beautiful day for it. One more purchase from The Country Squire: Choctaw in an '80s Peterson's System Standard smooth 312 with nickle band and vulcanite p-lip stem. My drink is iced coffee. The bag note is quite nice, milk chocolate matched with a delightful fruit note. Neither outdoes the other. Like Cowboy Coffee and Riverboat Queen, Choctaw produces the kind of creamy smoke I enjoy. The flavor of the Virginia tobaccos take the lead, the toppings do not subliminate them. This is my first aromatic Virginia blend, and I think it's a winner. I really like all three of these blends, and I foresee both Cowboy Coffee and Choctaw earning a permanent spot in my rotation.

Off to work with a bowl of year 2020 D&R Penhooker Silver in a straight smooth brown undated pre-Republic Peterson Shamrock 263 Canadian with a nickel band and a tapered black p-lip stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Going to listen to old radio shows, starting with Gunsmoke.

On the Bluff, and just whittled a new tamper, as Mrs. Swede has been nesting and moving things around, so knocked my old one off probably thinking it's just a twig 😉. A bowl of Amphora Original in a smoky at both ends MM General with forever stem. It's been beautiful day to be outside finishing a project. I'm batching it tonight, so either take out Chinese or left over BBQ will be for supper.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, chicken legs and green beans dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm close to finishing this bowl of year 2012 Rolando’s Own in a smooth straight early ‘60s Lane era “William Conrad” Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink.

Actually had a nice smoke today, some "English Oriental" from the The Hill Cigars in a Pete 306 Heritage. First English that's tasted good to me since before 9/16. I'm not declaring victory yet, but I'll take the nice smoke for what it was.

I had my second post op checkup yesterday, and all was well with the spine, except that now I have a hernia too! Probably have had it for a while but it was just kind of jumbled in with all the other pain. Looking forward to getting all the things fixed and maybe be able to coast a while. Oh well, the Lord is good nevertheless.
