Almost a third of the way through this bowl of year 2018 Sutliff Dunhill Elizabethan Match in a straight smooth brown 1960s-70s BBB Own Make 506 Canadian with a sterling silver band and a tapered black vulcanite stem. Fed all the ferals except for the still absent Abner the Eager. I let Harry the Hairy in to eat dry food, and both Daisy the Feral Princess and Tomato the Brave couldn't wait to get out of the house. Sleepy Suzy hissed him, too. Poor fella just doesn't have any social skills even though he was behaving while he was inside.

Just finished smoking Watch City American Cut Plug Mixture in a straight smooth brown undated Gesandt Canadian Made in England with a tapered black vulcanite stem. This pipe was originally owned by Poul Schluter, who was the Prime Minister of Denmark from 1982-1993. Tomato the Brave was on my lap and snoring.

Last smoke of the day is Wilke No. 515 Double Shot in a smooth dark medium bend 2021 Peterson Heritage Brown POTY 4AB No. 45/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. This is No. 515 with twice the rum of the Basil Rathbone blend. Reading while this bowl lasts.

The first Hellenic Air Force "Kamikaze" pilots

Sergeant Grigorios Valkanas, 18 November 1940

During an air combat with italian bombers and pursuit aircrafts and after run out of his ammunition, he noticed that an enemy aircraft had escaped and was heading towards city of Korytsa to bomb the Greek positions. With sacrifice and trying with suicidal way to prevent this like the Spartans in Thermopylae, he fell onto the enemy aircraft and together with it he fell to the ground and was killed.
Lieutenant Colonel Marinos Mitralexis , 2 November 1940

During the air battles found that his ammunition was saved he saw that an italian bomber was heading to bomb civilians in Thessaloniki, he swarm to it and with his engine propeller hit it's the tail and shot it down. Despite the serious damage suffered by the propeller of his plane, he managed to land it in a field, at the point where the crew of the downed Italian bomber had landed with their parachutes a little earlier. Immediately asked the villagers where they were then drew his revolver and he arrested 3 of them (the pilot had been killed in the crash). During the German occupation, he escaped to the Middle East, where he continued his military activity but unfortunately was killed in action due to engine failure in 1948 in the Aegean sea.

I am smoking Torben Dansk Black Cavendish (ohne flavour) in a Fallion, double Greek coffee beside me.

Starting my Breakfast of Champions.

@lgoldberg Have you tried any of these? Star of the East (C&D), Byzantium (Sutliff), Old Professor (Sutliff) are three English blends I enjoy. Star and Byzantium have a forward Turkish component that you might like if you like "English Oriental". All three are available as bulk and reasonably priced, especially during bulk sale events.
I am sorry to hear that you have secondary post-op issues, my sister is also plagued by back problems requiring surgery, a vertebral fusion next year. Repairing the predominant injury often reveals lesser secondary issues that accompany it. I am pleased to hear your recovery is proceeding well and send my hopes that other issues will be simpler to address.

A third of a bowl left of pre-2014 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Fed my cats, and all the ferals except for Abner the Eager. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

What a lovely day in the Bluegrass! The missus served up a delicious pot roast dinner after church, and now I am contentedly smoking CS Riverboat Queen in a 1994 Peterson Sherlock Holmes Mycroft, drinking Colombian coffee, and reading The Stranger by Albert Camus, the latest selection for the little book reading group I belong to.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, spent a litle time outside with Harry the Hairy, and have passed the last third of this bowl of year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Coffee from a freshly opened bag of Gold Star Hawaiian Kona Extra Fancy Dark Roast, neat, is my drink. Very good coffee although the dark roasting moderately tones down the Kona flavor.

Passing the quarter mark of this bowl of Wilke Pickett’s Charge in a post-WW2 straight smooth brown pre-Republic Peterson’s Dublin 3 bulldog with a nickel band and a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. Working a little while longer as I listen to The Great Gildersleeve from my radio collection. Ice water and bergs is my drink.
