Great read and great photos thanks Swede. Loved the one of the workers in the rafters and some of those leaves are HUGE.

The photos brought back lots of memories from many years ago!! Impressed they were still using wood smoke for their curing process!! FTRPLT

That's great. It's a way of life around here still. Farmers get the slabs and sawdust from lumber mills in time for the next season. It's a 13 month job. I used to do it myself. It's a good way to learn hard work and that it is a good thing.
