Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it.

I have been smoking pipes off and on for about 10 years; have been smoking them seriously for the last 5 or so.
My PAD is held in check by my TAD (once I have all the tobacco I want [ha!] I guess I can start focusing on pipes)
I have always enjoyed Balkan type Lat blends and Lakelands were love at first smoke. Have grown to really love a medium, bready Virginia and only in the past year or two have Burleys really “clicked” for me but they too are amazing. I have found that strong doses of perique are not for me and sadly am coming to the realization that my body might have something agains red virginias, though I LOVE them otherwise…mores the pity.

Outside of Pipes I am a big book nerd and like to chase hobbies (too many hobbies) that force me to do things the hard(er) way such as blacksmithing, hand tool woodworking, fly tying and leatherwork. I live in the green part of Oregon but my favorite place in the world is the high desert in the eastern half of the state.

Thanks for having me; I recognize some user names from another forum I am on, the ones I don’t I look forward to getting to know and learn from you.

Cheers!

Happy Thanksgiving and welcome! Pull up a chair and set a while.

Welcome to the group and Happy Thanksgiving! I took enjoy English/Balkan blends mainly from G. L. Pease with Tashkent from Peretti and Balkan Mixture from Gawith Hoggarth in the mix occasionally. For straight Virginias I tend to gravitate toward flakes.

Welcome to BoB, and happy Thanksgiving! I just spent some time in Oregon on wildfires this summer, beautiful countryside! Enjoy your time here! Best group of pipers on the internet!

Another fellow user from Oregon, its great to have you! I'm in centeral Oregon where the pine forests border the desert. Happy Thanksgiving!

Darn right I celebrate Thanksgiving, St. Klaus!
Welcome to Brothers of Briar where we aren't necessarily brothers, but we generally get along just fine!
Oregon, eh... never been there. Greetings from PA Dutch Country.
Remember, Post early and often!

I celebrate Thanksgiving because:
  • Executive Order 118 by President Abraham Lincoln
  • It's the only Holiday devoted to Thankfulness
  • Doesn't much exist anywhere else, at least not as it exists in U.S.A.
  • Madsion Ave has a hard time selling Thanksgiving. Like, how does one advertise thanks?

Peter
