    What Are You Smoking Pages.

Morning all. I'm smoking some Old Dublin from my '77 Dunhill root briar.

I've been making my home blend "Black Balkan" for a while... now I tried adding Perique...

Oh yes... I know exactly what you mean. After some years of blending, I have only 5 blends that I really like and keep making. But my "Black Balkan" was pretty solid. That was the one I stopped tweaking and thought I was "finished" with. I guess not. Now I have one more blend to tweak for a...

I've been making my home blend "Black Balkan" for a while... now I tried adding Perique...

One of my favorite blends of all time is a pressed home blend I call "Black Balkan". It's basically just equal parts bright Virginia, Stoved Virginia, Smryna, and Latakia. But this time, when it was time to make a new batch of it... I added about ~8% long cut Perique. I put it all in the...

    What Are You Smoking Pages.

Smoking some Penny Farthing from one of my two Dr.Grabow Omega's. I think the more pipes I have, the more I appreciate these Omega's. Good, solid, little pipes. They feel good in the hand and they always smoke well.

    Probably My Last Order

Wow... I don't think I've ever made anything with that much latakia. I usually prefer fairly light English blends. The blend I regularly make with the most lat is my Black Balkan, and that's "only" 30% latakia. Also... you should leave you excess tobacco to your internet pipe friends! lol

    Probably My Last Order

Yeah, the reality of the economics of it make it impossible, but I thought maybe I'd try to just offer them to friends and see what happens. It's a shame to waste these good blends. I know there is likely some bias involved, but I honestly do think that 4 or 5 of my home blends are better than...

Anyone having other problem with Pipes and Cigars?

Pipes and Cigars does have less than stellar customer service. I've had issues with their service before too. So I believe it.

    Probably My Last Order

I think it is possible to buy direct from some growers or wholesalers. For example, I got a pound of whole leaf Macedonian Prilep last year. Problem is, you probably have to buy fairly large amounts. And if, god forbid, Perique ever becomes too scarce to buy as a component, it is possible to...

    Probably My Last Order

This is unfortunate news. I've been blending my own tobacco for a few years now... and I just started taking it very seriously. I had tin labels made up with the names of my 4 best blends, and gave out lots for Christmas. Judging from the responses, I was actually considered maybe even...

    Hello from Philadelphia

I'd love to go to the Christopher Morley's pipe club meetings... any idea when they'll start up again? I also have been blending my own tobacco for quite a while, and I have four blends that I'm actually really proud of. I've love to share them with people.

    Hello from Philadelphia

Well, I have ~150. I'm in the process of preparing to list some on eBay.

    Hello from Philadelphia

Nope, I'm further northeast, near Bridesburg.

    Hello from Philadelphia

Yes indeed! It's definitely #1 on my list.

    Hello from Philadelphia

Hi everyone. I've been a pipe smoker for some years now... but only joined this forum last month. I have way too many pipes, but not enough tobacco. It's never enough tobacco. Also, I'm a voracious reader. I try to read about a book a week, though it usually ends up being about 2 books a...
