Use one of those dark green scotch-brite dish pads instead. It'll take a little more elbow grease, but it's harder to screw up the bowl. You'll still get down to bare wood too. If you don't want to use running water and soap with the scrub pad, you can just get the pad wet and squeeze it out...

So I'm a Burley guy... what does that mean?

Maybe give C&D's Night Train a try. It's not a pure burley, but it certainly has nutty burly as a component. It might be a decent introduction into VaPers too. It's a very "pure" tasting tobacco too. If you have an interest in dark fruits, like prunes and dates, it'll give you that too.

When I was first exploring Stokkebye tobaccos, I really took to LBF, but as I resupplied, I found myself grabbing it less and less. Not sure why. 66° and clear. Beautiful morning. Stanwell with new 507-C. I thought it might be a tad dry, but it was a wonderful smoke. I can't seem to keep...

    Pipe crate

ah, one of those deals. I thought it was going to be some kind of traveling gear or for storage. Took it too literally. Makes sense. The wet shaving community has these, and I've found some similarities with boutique and small batch soaps to what is happening with tobacco. There are also a...

I don't know what the temp was this morning, but it was already thick and heavy and sloth weather. Rusticated Italian poker pot with new 507-C. Through all my pipe purges and quitting a couple times, this pipe has remained. It never fails. Used to smoke a lot of McClelland #2015 in it, and I...

    jar openers

Thanks, folks. For some reason, I can't see your image, Niblick. I'm really hoping it can be something I hang on my peg wall, or in the basket, by my pipes and doesn't have to include water and yet more toolage. Mostly why I was hoping it would be with a handle, or part of a handle, for the...

    jar openers

This is one of the advantages of using a two-piece lid. I don't. I re-use peanut butter jars. When I jar up bulk or tinned tobacco, I have a little cup of distilled water in which to dip my finger and run around the rubber seal for lubrication when tightening down the lid. Generally works...

    Fun diagnosis

I don't know your problem, but I do have the occasional sciatica and lower back blow out. Stretching helps A LOT. I don't do it enough. It really should be part of my daily routine. I exercise 5 days a week, but the stretching is a bigger chore than sweating. I can't give a reason. I've...

Funny. I considered starting a thread about jerky retailers. Not too long ago, I emailed an online shop about a pipe. I asked for an additional picture or two and if it had any fills. they only had one small photo that you could not enlarge. In my request, I thanked them for the trouble and...

Didn't check the temp today, but it was very muggy and Canadian fire hazy. Shedding antler rusticated Italian volcano poker w/ new 507-C. It was a very nice, satisfying smoke. 7.25/10. This Canadian smoke has to be killing outside business. I think it is keeping people inside more than C-19...

    Another Peterson disappointment

If you can judge by articles like below, it's all about the stem on this one (I guess that is stating the obvious with Peterson). I truly enjoy reading about Peterson and the the fanatical fans, but I'm perfectly fine appreciating from afar. https://petersonpipenotes.org/blog-posts/

How do you all take your coffee?

thought about starting a thread in the general section, but here I am instead. I've found while being on the computer that I cannot swirl liquid (coffee, tea) around my cup with my left hand without splashing and spilling, which is my non-dominant hand. With my right, it's second nature and no...

66° and hazy.* Castello Carlo Scotti Natural Vergin π G unmarked 287 shape w/ 6 year old Night Train. Good smoke, but smoker error in the packing with a little whistling. It drove me a little nuts, and I didn't have my poker with me. 7/10. *the jet stream must have shifted the Canadian fire...
