    I Went Maskless

Since the mask mandate in St. Paul-Minneapolis, I have always worn a mask when I'm in a public place; anywhere there are people gathered. Haven't had a cold. One day last week, I went to the grocery and realized I didn't have a mask with me. I figured, quickly in and out, no mask mandate, so I...

    Dental Implant

I've been in the process for months. Bone graft, tissue graft, and on and on. I have excellent dental insurance, but the coverage for implants absolutely sucks. Last week, the dentist made a mold, 60 seconds...tray with quick hardening goop in my mouth, dental insurance doesn't cover it...

    Psoriasis pain

The bill for my skin cancer surgery arrived today. To be honest, I was nervous about what my out-of-pocket would be. $6,343 for my surgery. Thankfully, I have excellent medical insurance (opted out of Medicare) and my out of pocket cost was $280.43. Breathing easy.

    Full Beard

On May 1st, I may trim and even it a bit; until then, wild. My facial hair grows very fast.

    Terrible Question

You're probably correct. I have an aversion to those who are always right.

    Terrible Question

At one of the places where I volunteer, there's a guy who is a retired university history professor. (Ph.D.) He's congenial, relatively friendly, etc., but he seems to believe that his opinion on any subject has more validity than anyone else's. I cannot stand the guy.

About Two Weeks & No TV Viewing

I've been very busy and by evening quite exhausted. I spend about an hour on my laptop and go to bed. I think that with the exception of watching some MN Viking Football games, I wouldn't feel I was missing much if I never turned on a TV again. My younger daughter says she and her husband rarely...

Home Depot Military and Veterans Discount

I went to Home Depot today to buy $1.25 bag of small screws. For 12 cents, I wasn't going to drive to another store. I spoke with a fellow who is the lead cashier. I told him about the bad P.R. that Home Depot is getting about denying the Vet's discount with a smartphone and QR code. He said...

    Terrible Question

And I have friends, like the retired Army Sergeant Major, who can damn near say anything to me and I love him like a brother.

Sometimes I Wonder Where The Money Goes

Today's expenses: A mold for a dental implant not covered by my dental insurance, $439.00, annual tabs for my car $197.50, the f-ing water bill $23.00 for water usage, $76 for sewer and ancillary charges.

    The Me Too Movement

I wouldn't go out with me either.

    Terrible Question

You are very fortunate. Sometimes there are people that just "rub me the wrong way."

March 12th…bye bye mask mandate in Oregon.

Same opinion as one of my mates, but he also refused vaccination. He officially died of Covid induced pneumonia.

And thanks for the reminder to go downstairs and turn the cranks.

    The Price of A House

Sold for over $4, but the current owner would not tell me the exact sale price. My guess, substantial cash prior to the actual contracted price to lessen the property tax increase.

    Full Beard

I've had a mustache and goatee for many years; not a full beard for about twenty. I'm not gonna touch it until May 1st; no trimming at all. Younger daughter says I'm currently looking like I should be carrying a cardboard sign and asking for spare change. LOL Still itchy, however.

    Vaulted Ceilings

Forgive me if I've related this before. A woman friend's father insisted that all his children be trained in a manual trade before going to college. His philosophy was that you can wipe your butt with a college degree but with a manual skill you'll never be out of work. My friend went to...

Sometimes I Wonder Where The Money Goes

Today, I was thinking about that uncle. About a year before he died, he and my aunt decided to buy a new car. They had trouble! I think the car they wanted was an early 80s Cadillac Cimarron. The problem was my uncle was terrified of driving an automatic transmission. Every car he'd ever had was...

    Terrible Question

Do you know someone you simply don't like, really don't like at all and you can't really identify why you cannot stand the S.O.B.?

    Vaulted Ceilings

Bill for the electrician came today. Change two light bulbs and one smoke/co2 detector. In my house 12 minutes $250. Told my older daughter. "Dad, you had done what you needed, didn't get on a ladder, good value for your buck."
