    i bought a mill

I could pretty much lose an arm just looking at something like that. Infinite respect for those of you who can, you know, do stuff for yourselves.

    Preparing for a Move

Just moved last summer. Rande already gave you the best advice there is...I'd just add that with mason jars and pipes, there's no such thing as too much bubble wrap. I had a bunch of tins, too...I keep them in three-drawer plastic shelves (you know the kind - cheap and easy from a local...

My new (old) album is ready!

I still keep Bobby Dancer and the Downbeats in the car...I'd be thrilled to get a copy of this one, too.

    Greetings from Minneapolis

Welcome aboard. I was just up your way for a company meeting in St. Paul a few weeks ago - I hadn't been to the Twin Cities in at least 15 years and there is SO much going on there now...would love to go back sometime!

    tiny house

Always though the same. I need space. I love space. I lived for 25 years in a 900sqft house that felt like the walls were closing in. Last summer we bought a 1900sqft place and I wish we'd have gone bigger...I think I'd need 2500 to be really comfortable. It's not about wanting big or...

    I learnt from that

Like the others, I'm no stranger to burnt clothing, counters, furniture, etc. Fortunately, I've managed to keep the damage away from the important plumbing.

    Going Back Home

Sorry Utah didn't follow the script, but you know...Ol' Tom Wolfe was full of it - you can absolutely go home again.

    TobaccoPipes.com

I don't use them often, but when I have I've never had a problem. No reason not to use them if they've got what you want at a price you like.

About Corn Cobs, Their Stems And Their Taste

You might just have some buildup in the shank or stem...lousy smokes happen once in a while (not exclusive to cobs, of course). The only time I've noticed a cob being particularly bitter, I also notice more moisture near the end of the smoke - I'm not sure if that's causation or correlation...

    Name three blends that...

Who was it that used to smoke a ton of that stuff? Was it LIPipe? For me: C&D Poplar Camp GLP Embarcadero (admittedly, that was pretty popular on this board a while back, but that's the only place I've ever seen it talked about) HH Louisiana Red In all cases, I think it's largely a...

    Mcclelland score

Good, good find. In the unlikely event you come across any Grey Havens or St. James, I'd be thrilled to help relieve the shop of its burden.

    Blending suggestions

Hmmm...I think not having blending VA is going to be tricky. If you do have a VaBur though, it's a pretty good head start. I'm not a master, but I think Izmir and VA is a match made in heaven; I think burley and cuban are a pretty swell couple, too. If I were playing around, I'd consider the...

    Happy birthday, idbowman!

Many thanks, fellas! I "celebrated" by tagging along with my wife as she was (finally) buying a new car.

    McClelland Going Out of Business

I think the exception to the second-hand market rule is PipeStud. He's been in the second-hand tobacco business long enough to know that price-gauging is all short-term gain with no long-term upside (and a damn fine guy if you ever get to meet him). As an example, I just sold some of my FMOTT...

    Tomorrow I prepare for...

Had a scare a while back (all clear)...I wasn't expecting to have to do that at the ripe old age of 28. Like everyone else said - the prep is the worst part. Make sure you have some good reading material.

    Cut the grass

Grass? Is that's what's under all of the white stuff I'm still looking at?

    SNUS

Skruf is solid stuff. If you're chasing a nic hit, I always that Oden's Strong was a bit of a powerhouse (and tastes kind of like jalapenos - not spicy, but the actual flavor of the pepper's flesh).

    Dry Snuff versus Moist Snuff?

Good question - I'm not the biggest fan of Makla, but considering I can't find loose snus anywhere domestically, or anything other than General, I'm curious as to whether or not they're trying to establish a retail sales presence here. (Not that I have a problem with General - some of their...

    GLP Telegraph Hill (VaPer)

Ahhh, Telegraph Hill. I really liked it back when this thread first started. Since then, it's become my absolute favorite blend, bar none.
