Thank you for replying. I totally agree with you on the red. I bought an ounce to try and I couldn't even get half way through the bowl. I like cherry tobacco but this stuff was horrible. It tasted and smelled like cherry Chapstick and it roasted my mouth.

How is the 7 Seas regular? My wife bought me a 3.5 tin about four years ago and I never opened it. I have so many tubs and tins in jars that I opened, I'm trying to get through some of them before I open anything else. Is it like Captain Black original?

    don't be a Dick

I think there was one of these in a Seinfeld episode, "The Topper". LOL. Those kind of people are so annoying. I have someone in my wife's family that is like that. He's a know it all. I was a police officer and a State Constable in my twenties and thirties. I would be talking about something...

Smoking some Prince Albert in a 1990s Dr. Grabow Royal Duke Saddle bit billiard. This is my Monday morning pipe.

How do you all take your coffee?

Thank you for responding Ranger! 8 O'clock coffee does not agree with my stomach. I couldn't imagine drinking a ramped up version of it like Colombian!

How do you all take your coffee?

In the morning before work it is 4:45am so I don't make a pot. I have a cup of Taster's Choice Regular instant before heading out. When I get home I brew a pot of fresh coffee. It was Folgers regular blend, then Breakfast blend for a while, then I switched to Maxwell House original for many...

    Wife Found Me a Pipe!

Wow! 50 bucks for a Dunny that looks like it wasn't even smoked, and you got all the little goodies in the box with it? With the luck I've had in the last 17 years the good Lord wouldn't present me with that golden nugget!

Sadly yes. They discontinued the blend.

Edgeworth is what I miss. I have a few tubs of Lane's remake of it. Then when Lane closed their Tucker GA. plant they discontinued that. So I have a few tubs of Lane Limited Ready Rubbed tucked away in my cellar for future use. I am a huge Middleton fan, well, I used to be. Walnut, Sugar Barrel...

    Tastes Changed Yet Again??

I stocked up early in my pipe smoking journey. Am I regretful?, not really, do I wish I would have stocked up on the stuff I like now?, absolutely 😆! But I would buy a tin of something I knew I didn't like or that I didn't try when I would do my order. I'm glad I did that. I also bought in bulk...

    Tastes Changed Yet Again??

I can relate. I went through this 12 years ago. Luckily for me I got in this when John Harden "Matches860" was still alive. He spent time talking with me on what shapes and tobaccos to smoke. One afternoon I called him and said I'm at my wits end. I've spent too much money on tobaccos and I...

After my morning shift I had a bowl of Prince Albert in a 1960s Yello-Bole Standard billiard then after making some egg, cheese and sausage on English muffins for my wife and I, it was time to enjoy a bowl of a freshly opened tub of four year old Sir Walter Raleigh aromatic in the same pipe. I...

Very nice Comoy Sir. A few years ago I bought a John Middleton Selbur bent pipe. I did some research on it and it turns out it was a late 1930s and Comoy made it. I found another one that was sold on *bay for a lot of money. I think I bought the one I have for under $20. I'm mainly a burley guy...

What do you smoke while fishing?

I used to be a big outdoorsman, up until about 14 years ago. Back then I was a cigarette smoker, but while trout fishing I used to smoke Swisher Sweets cigars, I can't remember the name of the size but they were long and thin. They would help keep the mosquitos away. While fishing for crappie or...

That pipe is so cool looking Jim! Kind of looks like R2-D2 sitting in the bowl. It is beautiful, it's amazing that the pipe is in that good of shape and being over 100 years old.

I'm sorry for your tough day Sir. The rainy weather makes my back and knees hurt so bad. I'm intrigued by your post about smoking LL-7, that is one of my favorite blends! It reminds me of my favorite Captain Black blend, Copper. I hope they keep making it!

Thank you for your reply, I do take your tastes in tobacco and your reviews to heart. I'm sure I've saved money from making tobacco purchases from reading your reviews. I've been really thinking about getting two ounces of the Watch City Deluxe Crumb Cut. From what I've read I see that is has...

My first pipe of the day was a 1960s Dr. Grabow bent Regal with a bowl full of Lane Limited Ready Rubbed. I usually start the day with Prince Albert, but I still have a few tubs of LLRR so I figured I can indulge a little bit.

Hello Jim, very nice pipe there. I bought an unsmoked Wally Frank Canadian from EB a couple years ago, it was in the original box wrapped in the light red tissue paper. The seller said it was from the 50s. I like the lightly topped burley pipe tobacco, 1960s style I guess, to where it's not an...
