    Two Friends blends

THAT'S the one I was thinking of!!! Redwood's the one I smoked first of the bunch.

    Two Friends blends

Is Heritage the VA blend? If so, I have smoked that one and enjoyed it a ton. I have also smoked the Valle Crucis and though not quite my cup-0-tea any longer, I really enjoyed it when I was first checking into latakia blends. There's another one they offer, Irish Mist(?), something like that...

    Waxing A Rusticated Pipe

Be careful trying to buff rusticated/blasted pipes with hard carnauba and a buffing wheel. If the stuff gets jammed into the crevices, it's a bear to get out.

    Yard & Garden Work 2008

Honestly, I'd much rather have a yard to deal with. I've never had one in my life, ever, and it would be kind of cool(for a little while, at least) to do that kind of work. I often help friends do their landscaping and I enjoy the work. After a week behind a computer, actually doing something...

    Hydrating Tobacco

I have a couple of different ways of doing this. 1) Wet down a paper towel and wring it out until it's just damp. Put the tobacco you want to hydrate into a zip lock with a strong seal. On top of the tobacco, place the sandwich bag with the damp paper towel. You want to leave the towel bag open...

    Hedge Hunters

Ian... Rodd Knox(???) being a ******* aside, I think I know what he was getting at, though I don't know that he did it very tactfully. I love to read, but can't imagine reading a book about hedge fund managers. It's a to each their own type of thing. I think that's what he was getting at...

    Yard & Garden Work 2008

The "yard" to my apartment is made out of brick. I have no clue how my landlord got it to grow, but it sure is easy to maintain :)

    What Are You Reading?

The Bloody Ground by Bernard Cornwell. It's a work of Civil War historical fiction. Cornwell's one of the best in the biz when it comes to this genre. No messing about, just page-turning goodness. Also, working on a few by Jonathan Lethem, Motherless Brooklyn and Gun, With Occassional Music.

    P-lip

Put some away for several years and try it again. It mellows out nicely and that blast furnace effect cools down a good bit.

    pipe elitism

I've noticed it from time to time. I ignore it. This seems to happen with every hobby/collectible/fad, what have you. I really notice it lately with beers, specifically craft brews/micro-brews. I like different types of beers, love trying them out and seeing how they are. If I like one enough...

    Navy Flake????

Yeah, I'll 2nd, 3rd and 4th that sentiment. It's also a crumblecake which makes it nice and easy to rub out for smoking. I'm glad I peeked into this thread as it reminds me I'm nearly outta Blockade Runner and need to re-up.

    What's your favorite beer?

For daily drinking and handing out to friends who like to suck my beer stores dry, Miller Lite. Hold the flames, gentleman, my tastes to travel upward from here :) After that, Boddingtons is my favorite of all time beer. Exactly what I want when I go looking for a beer. Micro-brews, I can take...

    Favorite Book?

My copy of One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest is pretty ragged. It gets read every couple of years. Also The Lord of the Rings about every 2 to 3 years, including the Hobbit.

    What Are You Reading?

Currently reading The Virtues of War by Stephen Pressfield. It's an historical novel of Alexander the Great's conquests. I've been interested in that period of history and after reading the "true" histories available, this book seemed like a good way to provide the drama histories tend to lack...

    Can this be right?

You'd be surprised. Something as simple as eating smaller helpings, eating earlier in the evening, drinking less soda(or beer, bourbon, scotch, etc) throughout the day/evening(for the beer, et al) will have you dropping weight quickly. Fifteen pounds may be much and your scale may be off a tad...

    Boswell pipes

Boswell pipes are good pipes. I own 2 of them. They're exactly as advertised; handmade pipes at affordable prices. The first one I bought took a little time "coming around" and the second was wonderful from the start. If you ever get a chance to visit his shop in Chambersburg, PA, you'll leave...
