    Curious...

Although the retro-hale is sometimes pleasant, I still do not get any flavor that way. "Breath smoking" has opened up a world of flavor for me lately. YMMV .

Snooty Tobacconists and Exploring a New Hobby

First of all, welcome to this group of pipe lovers. I hope that you find the information available here useful. Secondly, there is no figuring how people run their business. I think that Latakia blends are the most easy ones to introduce to a new smoker. They have a good taste burn well and do...

A Rarity? Anyone know about GBDs?

Very interesting... the picture from GP has under it a statement that the Hungarian was from 1954. I agree that it looks like yours has had a stem repair. Is the brass GBD on the outside of the perplex(SP?).

LC: I think that I was drawing with every breath. To much for me. I think I would cover the slot with my tongue and draw every 3 breaths. :study:

Does "Breath Smoking" Increase N Uptake.?

I watched this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3vrBFnq7Xo&t=17s Also tried it with a straw in a glass of water. When I breathed in the water rose in the straw. There was a slight vacuum that elevated the water about 1 inch. Exhaling through the nose caused the water to drop down. When...

Does "Breath Smoking" Increase N Uptake.?

You can teach and old dog new tricks. After 55 yrs piping, I watch the umteenth video on BS. Tried it in a meerschaum with "Old Gowrie" in it. Worked as advertised. It was cool, flavors not tasted before, etc. But Lady N gave me a visit. Anyone else had that reaction?

    Broken Pipe - Steven Books

I agree with all the above. I always stopped at the shop when passing through Oregon. He was a unique and valuable man to grace our community. I was in the high Sierra this week and missed this topic. I hope that Eva can keep his blends and practices going. Last night, I smoked a blend in his...

    Seattle pipe shop recomendations?

Kirsten had a shop in the "Pike Street Market". I am not sure if it is still there. Their main shop is at 910 Lenora Street, Suite 156 Seattle, WA 98121. (Run by the family I think.)  A short walk from PSM. They have more then Kirsten pipes if you are not interested in one. Any Seattle Pipe...

    Wind caps

I had the first one pictured: gave it away since it did not fit my bowls, even the small ones, and the tabs that hold in in the bowl bent easily. The second one pictured works fine on all my pipes. It is not as heavy as the other one but who cares? It works!

I had the same problem. Wish I had posted here. I did buy a band for $95 from Fison. www.filson.com. It may not have the detail you are looking for. I do like the quality however.

Does anyone else Hammock Camp in the Winter?

No. I sleep right on the snow. Have a tarp ground cloth that I have excess to flip over me if it starts to snow. But, that is in California weather. :drunken:
