A the father of a buddy's of mine smoked London Dock. He called it London Dump. I tried it once. The tin/package note was a bit garbage like. Did not care for it. I wonder if it has improved. :affraid:
My latest purchase was a Tinsky that I purchased for his web site. I was disappointed that he had coated the chamber. But, it is breaking in nicely with no flavor effects that I can tell. But so is the uncoated other one that I have

Stick: The short answer is no. That the "review" remarks on the grey ash makes me think that it is a rarity. I have had only one tobacc that ended in grey ash. That was the first and only bowl of Rattray's Old Gowrie. I do want to try that again soon. I do not recall how many relights it took...

I am definitely a traditionalists. At most maybe, a Cumberland on the right pipe I can stand. I sold off a Boswell pipe because I could not stand the color of the stem. I did not even smoke it. It looked OK in the photo on the web site but it was too much for me in person. :affraid:
I am sadden by this news also. I enjoyed my contact with Mike When he was making a bowl for my Kirsten. I am in the process of breaking that bowl in now and I will smoke it tonight in his honor.

BTW, It has not been asked...What are you smoking? Some tobaccs leave a lot of dottle and are very damp. Some dottle smells worse than others.
I have found that it takes 3 days for the bowl to clear (dry) the somewhat sour smell from the bowl. It is probably wetness but it can be that the tars...
