    What are you smoking?

Thanks Bradley -- I really love this pipe.  I'm calling it the "J.R.R." The ferrule is pre-ban ivory sandwiched with silver.  The stem is hand cut SEM mottled red/black ebonite.  The stummel is Todd's proprietary brush technique in (from what Todd tells me a very difficult) vertical technique...

    What are you smoking?

Some Fribourg & Treyer Cut Virginia Plug, my first bowl in the J.R.R. -- the unique Todd Harris custom chubby morta author.

    Selling Tobacco?

All true, but you can indeed purchase LEAF on line.  This is, of course, cured leaf, of various sorts, and we're not talking hogsheads (unless you want to buy that much).  So unless you're in Canada or overseas -- yes -- you can buy leaf tobacco and experiment on blending, making your own...

The rest of the tin of Dunhill Flake with a pinch of Turkish Izmir, in a Wessex Classic sandblasted cumberland prince.

    Selling Tobacco?

Great link, Carlos -- and good advice. Probably not worth the hassle unless you've got a business plan and a good lawyer. I know that in Canada, it's all taxed Federally, and there's huge penalties for individual consumers who purchase/import a kilo (2.2 pounds) or more of tobacco -- they have...

    PUBS - SMOKING PIPES

Craig, I envy you folks that have access to terrific B&Ms and lounges that allow smoking.  AFAIK, we have only a few such places (B&Ms with lounges) in the whole state and the closest is more than an hour away.  In Maine, smoking is only authorized in those B&Ms with lounges and private clubs...

    Sutliff in Bulk?

Actually, it is Mac Baren that purchased Sutliff (and the bulk tobacco line) from Altadis. When Mac Baren did that, they made it clear nothing would change at Sutliff -- President Paul Creasy and employees to remain, etc. Sutliff also mports, imanages and distributes the Mac Baren products in...

    Sutliff in Bulk?

Hi there Z  :)  Though Sutliff does offer some of their Private Stock blends in 8 ounce as well as well as 1.5 ounce cans, unfortunately, Sutliff only offers their Molte Dolce and Caberet (Moulin) Rouge in 1.5 oz. cans. Sutliff does offer a wide selection of bulks...

Recommendations for Oriental Mixtures with no Latakia

I finished a tin of Brigham Maritime Morning recently --and reviewed it here in December: https://www.brothersofbriar.com/t26052-brigham-maritime-morning-a-review?highlight=Maritime+Morning Please note: There is a bit of latakia in this blend. I liked it.

    What are you smoking?

I opened a tin of Dunhill Flake recently and find myself reaching for it often. No surprise though -- I love this blend. This bowlful enjoyed in a Savinelli Giubileo d'Oro 320 KS author.

How to get an hour from 3g of tobacco?

Great story, Eric -- thanks for posting  ;)

Recommendations for Oriental Mixtures with no Latakia

The Robert McConnell Scottish Flake sounds interesting -- I'll put it on my bucket list -- thanks. I have smoked a tin of the Robert McConnell Scottish Cake (Kentucky, Perique, Virginia) and posted my review of that blend on TR. I enjoyed it a lot (4 stars), but the Scottish Cake (a Va/Per)...

Recommendations for Oriental Mixtures with no Latakia

Cornell & Diehl Guilford Courthouse appears to have a similar composition to the Low Country Waccamaw, and IIRC, both blends are made by C&D. However, comparing the two, the reviews on TR are quite dissimilar, with the Guilford Courthouse having a 2.1 average (in 15 reviews) and the Waccamaw...

    Rattray's Pipes?

I was looking at this Rattray Morta from Don Seatter.  Don says Rattray has discontinued all but the 9 mm filtered mortas from this line, so the unfiltered version is rare now -- looks like a great pipe for the price...

Hello Sam -- and welcome, brother! I wanted to try one of the "new" Drew Estate pipe tobaccos, but for some reason, DE deleted the blend I was interested in prior to release. Oh well.
