Mad about tobacco drying out- 9oz of Squadron Leader

Are ya tryin to murderate me? LOL BTW: I was able to get all the mason jars back to a pretty good state, and the bowl I enjoyed on Sunday in my meer, smoked very well. Live and learn, eh? I'm going to check all my other baccy and make sure it's still okay. It's too much of an investment to...

Mad about tobacco drying out- 9oz of Squadron Leader

Thanks for all the tips guys. I couldn't find a spray bottle either, so I did that only thing that my frustrated mind could handle so I poured about 2-3 table spoons of water over it, closed the screw top to the jar and shook it thoroughly. I checked one jar this morning and the moisture content...

Mad about tobacco drying out- 9oz of Squadron Leader

I just went through all of my tinned Squardon Leader, roughly 9oz worth of it, and it all went dry on me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man, I am so unhappy about this. It still smokes okay, but has almost no apparent moisture. So, I re-tinned it, and this time used actual glass jars with metal lids. The heavy...

How did you guys get over tung bite?

One reason I love my Squadron Leader English blend is because I can puff away at it and there is almost no tongue burn. Other blends such as VA or Burley heavy leaf gives bites my palate all the time. :)

Anyone smoke the tinderbox blends? recomendations?

This is probably a little late now, but the 1927 is an excellent, flavored burley/VA. It's something I smoke after a heavy meal on Thanksgiving or Christmas. The 1928 and 1929 are a little heavier, and are both excellent burley/VAs, and I think one might have a little bit of CAV in it. All three...

I just tried Cornell & Diehl's Billy Budd

Kyle - I'm a big latakia fan, and as a matter of fact I pulled out an aged tin of Squadron Leader and couldn't get enough of it. What interesting to me is that I smoked for almost 2 hours with the SL, and it was simple heaven. But, the other day I smoked a bowl of McClelland 2011 Christmas cheer...

    Tobacco Drying Out

I've read some of the threads on the board in the past about preserving and "canning" your tobacco. I have my various leaf stored in varying containers. Some are in screw top glass canisters, and some in rubbermaid glass jars with rubber lids. I pulled out a jar of Squadron Leader last night and...

    Getting a patent

I'm a librarian and have helped countless people with this in the past. You're local library will probably have the Nolo Press "Patent Yourself" book, which is pretty much everything you'll need to file. However, you also need to search the Patent and Trademark database to make sure it isn't...

    FREE PIPE CONTEST!!!

How about a bent poker, with complimentary colored lucite stem. Maybe the top of the bowl could have a slight incline and the bottom of the bowl could flair out a bit to make it a perfect sitter?

My attempt at an irregular shaped freehand

Very observant Kyle. This is a Tinsky straight kit, but I do also think that it will benefit from a "very slight" bend. :-) I had bad luck with the wood and decided to do this design based on how Nording has done some of his. However, I have no real talent, just a love for the process. I will...

My attempt at an irregular shaped freehand

This is my first pipe post finger surgery. During buffing I saw some major flaws in terms of proportions, but I love large pipes. I will probably take this back to the sander, but the burl is so full of pit and cracks that I tried something different. [/img] [/img] [/img]...

    10,000 hours

I'm currently reading Malcolm Gladwell's book "Outliers." It's a fascinating look at how people become successful. Much of what Gladwell realized is that a person needs much support and the right circumstances, and luck. But one major factor is becoming an expert in your field. After looking at...

    Making music

Frost, I like where beginning of the son is going. I think you need sort of a "B" section with some rhythmically interesting guitar sounds, and the go to your vocals. Your vocals can be a "C" section and then you can repeat or "da capo" the "A" section. Just some thoughts from a...
