    Favorite pretzels

Generally make soft pretzels a few times a year. Almost always during the fall or winter. As far as commercial pretzels. Having lived in Pennsylvania for a number of years I'm partial to Snyder's but haven't gotten any for a number of years now. Jim

My son and our family had a tough week

Hope things settle down for you guys. The young lady will definitely be in my prayers. I know what its like to lose the use of an arm. Best wishes Jim

    I guess l lied

Perfectly understandable. Life is what happens to you while you're busy making plans and all that jazz. Holy cheese and crackers man that's a ton of cheddar. Hopefully you get that sorted without too much pain. Whenever you do get around to it I'd love to see the results. Jim

Funny you should say that. That's my life for most of the winter. SWMBO has the window open in the bedroom and a box fan on high 365 days a year. Doesn't matter if its -30f out or not. So yeah I save a ton on ice for my drinks. Jim

Looks like Pork Chops and Applesauce has sold out already. Sounds interesting for sure. The Boswell stuff should be amazing as well. Hope they smoke well for you. Jim

I had to throw that out there in the interest of fairness. After all RY is not a blend you let get sprung on somebody without a heads up lol. Peterson is doing a version of RY? What rock was I under to have missed this?

Oh wow, that takes me way back brother. I remember the magazine shop. That's been gone at least 5 years. They were gone when we moved back to Wyoming in '14. I remember going there 21 years ago when our youngest daughter was born. Hope all went well for the Mrs. I'll keep her in my prayers. Not...

Wait the Canadian hasn't turned on the furnace yet?!?!? I had to get ours going last week because of freeze warnings and they're predicting snow tomorrow. Safe travels to you Peanut butter, enjoy the better weather and remember us slobs that choose to live in the Arctic. Jim

Geoff, be aware that this is K&K's remake of the old Dunhill recipes that they had before manufacturing shifted to Orlik. Royal Yacht tends to be a love it or hate it blend. It also tends to be on the strong side and can leave a fellow with the nic spins if you're not watching. Just saying. The...

    Old Mora knife find

Great find! I would definitely say late 50's to very early 60's. The sheath as pointed out is in question. Not standard for that style at all. Granted anything is possible with the factory changing hands around that time though. Great knives but the older ones are a different class of awesome. Jim

Are you an 18th century gentleman?

Gentleman wasn't my thing. I used to do historical camping type stuff. Everything you brought had to be readily available prior to 1840. Frequently did winter camping trips like this. Usually clothing consisted of a breach cloth and leggings with moccasins, a linen shirt and a wool blanket coat...

    Cheetos Popcorn

Throwback flavor Doritos? That's a thing? We don't seem to have them here yet. Interesting most interesting. Jim

    What are you snuffing?

Rubbed out some Paddington really fine and am giving it a go. Smell is amazing but if I'm going to snuff much of this I'll need to alkalize it freebase the nic. Very mild. Has potential. Jim

Carving bead rings in bent bulldog/rhodesian

I'll make the suggestion of using a small Allen wrench to make the tool in the video from. Its already hardened and roughly the correct shape. Just sharpen it back to where it will fit the pipe you're working on and find a way to attach it to your equipment. Jim

    Sparkless/ Zeppelin pipe

I haven't seen one of these since I was maybe 12. As I recall they load from the front so its more like smoking a cigar. Morgan pipes makes a more modern version that looks like a briar cigar. They look interesting but I really couldn't say how they smoke. Jim

Junction Tobacco. Its inside an antique shop. Vi is the owner/blender. She's super sweet. All of her blends are truly in house blends not just relabeled 1Q. I have nothing against 1Q I just wish places would be upfront and honest with you about what they're selling. If they've added stuff to it...
