Very odd. The first pics don't show for me either. The second set do and wow! What great CWs. Jim

    PAD

Its unfortunate but pipes don't always move quickly through inventory. Personally I prefer my silver with less than showroom shine. That's just me though. Sweet pick up even if the shape isn't what you wanted. Its a beautiful piece. Jim

    PAD/TAD during deployment

A morning smoke lol. Only if you want to spend the day laid out on your driveway. Seriously though everyone is different and it might be a great wake up smoke for you. I find I prefer 1792 Flake in the very early morning hours just before dawn. Great haul you have there hope you enjoy it. Jim

    Last restoration of the Savatella's

Growing up we had model trains and the electrical main switch put out huge amounts of ozone. Using your nose will often lead one to alternate ozone generators just seek out any appliance that smells like a lightning strike close by. Just a thought since I don't know how hard it is to obtain...

    McConnell at Smokingpipes

The Dark Flake equivalent was pretty easy to spot. Now to figure out Royal Yuck lol Jim

    Crude pipe rack

Always had good luck with Minwax Red Mahogany. It is a classic look that gets lots of compliments. By the way that is a good looking rack. Jim

    Hot Peppers

Ghost chili products seem to fall way short on the heat even for me. I used to seek out hot peppers and loved the burn but these days I tend to stay on the milder side like chipotle peppers. I enjoy the flavor more than the heat and the ghost chili does have some decent flavor. I do make hot...

Mac Baren Takes Over Planta Blends.

Glad it was bought by MacBaren and not one of the mega tobacco companies. They at least stand a chance of being around in another generation. Jim

    4 Noggins

I only vaguely remember the old website so I can't really speak to that but the new site seems to be pretty straight forward and dare I say even user friendly. I'll have to give it a more serious look when I'm ready to make some more purchases. Always glad to see a retailer taking it seriously...

    Antique Yello Bole ebay score.

Yeah you have to keep in mind that tobacco consumption in the 30's and 40's was much different than today. You smoked all day usually you only had one or two pipes and they were much smaller and more portable. I have a Kaywoodie Super Grain from the 30's that is an amazing smoker but you'd be...

    Antique Yello Bole ebay score.

Excellent find! Love the 30's and 40's KBB pipes. Not much compares to them. Jim

Couple of new items to try

Conrad my guess is that its just conditioning. Most people ignore cig smokers when there are much more visible pipe or cigar smokers. Similar to people and diesel trucks the smoke is more visible therefore it must be worse. Even though the diesel actually puts out fewer emissions its much more...

Couple of new items to try

Picked up a tin of McConnell's Scottish Cake and a tin of Holger Danske Original Orange. Don't smoke aromatics often anymore but I'm always looking for a less offensive tobacco to smoke around others. Jim

    McConnell's in stock

Just one of each to sit on for a few years. I'm smoking mostly bulks at the moment so I can afford to wait for the next round. Jim
